I never beat "Shining in the Darkness", because I would get board of it halfway through, and turn it off. I've always told myself that someday I'll play it to the end, but so far I haven't.
I've never played Shining Force I or II.
I know. It's at the top of my list.
I was pretty jealous of my SNES-owning friends when Donkey Kong Country came out. I really bought the hype on that one, I wanted that game more than anything. I would pick out specific boxes of cereal because they had some kind of "Win a Super Nintendo and copy of DKC" offer. And again later, after I found out about JRPGs with Earthbound, Final Fantasy III and Chrono Trigger. That got a little better when I discovered Phantasy Star IV, though. And of course once Final Fantasy VII pretty much opened the floodgates for JRPGs in the West, I was more than happy with my PSX.
I've never beat Sonic 2 without cheating.
No rings to take on the final bosses, how is that fair :(
Also, I have all the Phantasy Star games and haven't played one of them except PSO on Dreamcast.
I've never finished Phantasy Star IV and it's also the only Phantasy Star that I like. That seems to be a crime around here.
I have given up on several Rpgs at the very end, the PSX version of Lunar Silver Star, and Grandia for example. Its like I just lose all interest overnight.
I never really liked Sonic 2. Its not bad it just didn't seem different enough from th first at the time for me. It was a huge let down for me.
I also remember being somewhat jealous of the SNES. Final Fight And UN Squadron were some of my favorites in the Arcade. I got over that fairly quickly and was completely killed when I and a good friend of mine traded our systems for a few weeks. DKC and FFII just didn't do it for me. I did enjoy the hell out of his imported Parodius. He in turn loved Lunar I and II, and Snatcher and he had it for quite a while.
I also have never beaten Sonic 2. I gave up on the final boss because I became bored and tired of the monotonous battle.
Shining Force II is the BEST game on the Genny (my favorite at least). There's nothing wrong with having not played it, but you shouldn't just piss it away because one person has a sandy vagina. The statements the writer made were convenient over-dramatizations that can be made about literally EVERY non-linear RPG. It's just a case where the guy didn't like it so he tried to make it sound as bad as possible; even taking standard elements and twisting them to fit his disdain. This is an even more common tactic in negative board game reviews. And this is the very reason I don't read reviews about anything before I play or watch it, because no matter what is stated, it will ALWAYS influence your take.
My Atari Jaguar, 3DO, 32X and Sega CD have gotten more play time than my PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and Xbox 360 combined.
I've never beat the first Legend of Zelda. =X
I never played the Sonic games back in the day. Now, I'm trying to beat them one by one. The only problem is I suck at them. I'm lucky to get past Marble Zone in Sonic 1. I've only gotten to level 3 once.
I find mortal kombat 2 and 3 incredibly difficult although most people seem to think it's easy as can be. On the other hand, i see people here who have never beaten sonic 2. I think that's the easiest sonic ever.
I also must confess that i have NEVER ever finished a sonic game on the game gear / master system. Too difficult... :daze:
