The 2011 To Do List is complete! I just scored a Duo-R for a decent price!
This means I'll have a modded TG-16 coming along shortly to help pay for it. :)

Congratulations! Nice to see that you're met your goals! I'd rep you, but it says that I have to spread some around.
So, what's in store for 2012?
It's the thought that counts. :)
2012 should be a year of flash carts and game collecting (I need to finish my 7800 library), with maybe an obscure system or two thrown in for good measure. I think I'm going to lay off of modding systems for a while though, and just play my games. :)
Welcome to the PC Engine Duo club! Incredible system, one of my all-time favorites.
Congrats. Was getting the Turbo Duo your goal or the modded TG-16?
Thanks, everyone. My main goal was to get a working Turbo Duo, but I had a TG-16 that I had been holding on to in the event that I didn't find a Duo under 200.00. Honestly, I was caught off guard with this auction, but I knew if I didn't jump on it right away I wouldn't see another one like it for a while. That's why I'm looking to mod my TG-16 - I used my credit card when I really shouldn't have, but I know I could recoup at least some of the cost with a solid TG-16 mod.
Yeah, I've made similar promises in the past but:
We'll see...
Awesome! The Duo is epic fun, and there were some awesome games released for it both in the US and in Japan. Plus, the PC Engine version of most games are like a million times cheaper than the US copies at this point.
Sweet!
Was this intact or did you repair it yourself? I was going to get one too and almost bought a broken one for repairs (because I can work a screwdriver)...but in the end Catherine lured me to the dark side and I'm out of retro cash. So you'll just have to keep updating this and your Neo CDZ thread with all the retro joy I'm missing out on.
And don't mod the thing beyond recognition!
And on a matter of forum etiquette the Duo R deserves a full uncensored Fuck Yes!
LOL, yeah, I tried to keep it work appropriate, but I definitely was excited.
The unit is intact, although i'm not sure of it's condition. IIRC there are some capacitor issues present with the duo that might require recapping, and I'm unsure of the condition of the lens assembly, but those are problems I can fix should the situation arise. My estimated delivery date for the unit is between the 16th and the 27th per eBay's website, so I'm eagerly awaiting this one!
On the Neo CDZ - I actually sanded down the ventilation slots on the underside of the case to allow more air to flow through and I've played it for about an hour and a half straight without a problem, so I'm going to hold off on the fans for now. If there's a need for them, I'll take care of it at that time.
So, short of a Neo Geo AES, Jaguar CD, and possibly a 5200, I'm all caught up on console collecting.
If you got a Duo-R you should be set. Capacitor issues aren't as big a deal with the R/RX models I've been told because they were manufactured differently than the regular Duos. However, the R/RX models do have a slightly thinner PCB based on what I've heard from people much smarter than myself. Plus, a built in System Card is great compared to the messing around with it with the addons.
Nice one i really like my duo-r as its RGB modded.
Why are you bothering with the tg-16 region mod? throw that trash in the bin,pc engine is where is at lol,and the cd drive is region free anyway theirs very little reason to own a tg-16 if you have a duo.
Unless you meant you were selling the tg-16?
