Let's talk about joysticks.

All right guys, between 3 weeks of waiting without updates and a cancelled order from techloops.com my joystick is on it's way from Amazon. I can't really blame it on techloops.com since I use a courier service that makes the payment with their credit card and I don't receive a tracking number or any emails from the seller, the courier gets this info on their email and take care of all that. Due to the busy christmas season and a cancelled order that I didn't know about, I started to worry. The refund is in process through the courier company and I placed a new order on Amazon for my Real Arcade Pro V3 SA. As of today, it's already in transit from Miami to DR and should be here this weekend or by Monday. I will be posting pictures and probably a small video.

I've often thought of buying a PS1 joystick and using that for my MAME needs, since I own a PS1/2 controller to USB adaptor.

If you can get a quality PS1 joystick, you can get adapters for pretty much any system. If you only care about having a joystick that works, and don't care about brands or top of the line quality in parts, Ebay and Amazon have a few cheap options for less than 50 dollars. 8 buttons and PS2/PS1/USB compatibility, too.

The last one is made by MadCatz, so it's more expensive and probably better in quality than the previous two.

Yeah, all I care about something with at least 6 buttons. Doesn't need to be fancy, just functional.

I always wanted to try one of those hori sticks, how is the weight??

I use these PS self made sticks, I can use them with my Megadrive using a Tototek PS1 to MD adapter.

I have all these multi console sticks using many diferent parts from diferent brands, these things are Fugly but functional since they are made by me with pretty basic tools, aesthetics are very important to me so I plan to buy one those OEM sticks, besides the collectable value of a homemade controller is zero:

I have the sega 6 button stick for the Genesis and the Dreamcast stick. I'd love to get my hands on a Saturn twin stick with a Dreamcast adapter so I can play virtual -on

The weight is around 5 pounds according to their site, and the build quality and sturdiness is incredible. The pics don't do it justice, and by looking at it since it's plastic, you'd think it would feel cheap or flimsy. Quite the opposite, it's very nice and sturdy. I'm no expert and this is my first stick, but I'd recommend it. Hell, don't take my word for it, head over to the Shoryuken forums and ask around, the experts there can give you more informed opinions on it.
