What sound issue? :?

Only have Model 2 with Model 2 Sega cd.
Model 3 all the way:) I love the small footprint and I'm not into 32X or Sega CD (although I have tried in the past).
I don't find the Model 2 sound especially objectionable. Maybe mine's better than some -- it's definitely not one of the later revisions (I think it was a VA1), but it doesn't have any problems with the PSG sound, nor does it emit any strange squeaks or whistles. It just sounds a tad distorted and midrangey. Sure, when you compare it directly to the Model 1 or Nomad, it sounds less crisp, deep, and/or clear, but there's a certain appeal to its slightly overdriven/compressed sound.
I'm not a fan of really bright high end, though, so that may influence my outlook -- though I have to admit that the Light Crusader soundtrack sounds especially beautiful on the Nomad. Sword of Vermilion sounded pretty nice too, though I'm not as big a fan of that VGM as others are.
Having owned most of the common Genesis variants at one time or another, I prefer the X'Eye overall. However, I will often bust out the Model 1 Genesis/Sega CD combo just because it is a sexy beast, and I always have a Model 1 AC adapter handy since I use it for so many systems. I can't always find a Model 2 or X'Eye AC adapter when I need it.
Some day, I will finish my Neptune...
The Genesis 2 in the picture I posted is a VA3, which is less awful in the sound department than the early ones. I think people just love to hate on the Genesis 2. The Genesis 1 had problematic models too. Just use what makes you happy.
Nothing right now. I have a model 1 Genesis/Sega CD thats boxed up and I dont feel like taking it out and setting it up.
I'm currently rocking the JVC X'eye with a 32x
I have a soft spot for the Model 1 with SCD 1 (the set up I had as a teenager), but the X'eye has been so reliable that I haven't really made it a priority to reacquire the model 1 set up. Maybe one of these days.
1989 Model 1 (HDG), primarily. I use Kega Fusion and/or Gens GS for review screenshots and grabbing sprites.
To me, there's only one version I'll settle for; the High Definition Graphics Model 1.
Most of my playing goes down on a VA6 Model 1 with a Model 2 SegaCD and a 32X; but the LaserActive has been sitting out for awhile as well since it's relatively new and I've been playing a lot of the Mega-LD games. I'll occasionally stick a game in there, but it's a lot more hassle than anything else.
I've had the same model 1 since christmas of 91, my same genesis has trucked along all this time. This particular model 1 has seen a lot of action in it's time. It was connected to Sega channel, and a model 1 sega cd at one point. It's currently connected to the 2nd model 2 sega cd it's seen, and the second 32X it's seen.
It's a work horse. Never failed me.
It's still connected to my CRT in the game room, too.
I normally use a HDG Model 1 Genesis with an XMD-3 and don't add a 32X or Sega-CD unless I'm playing 32X or Sega-CD games. The CD system I usually use is a European Mega-CD 2 with multi-bios.
Normally it's on a stock X'Eye using component video. But at the moment been playing on the CDX.
