Did you try hard mode? There are many more fliers, and they move faster as well. Didn't make it more enjoyable for me though as I had to proceed much slower.
Other than that I just want to know where everyone agreeing here were during the last topic on SCIV.

Wow, that thread really just disgusts me. While you were a bit aggressive, I think it's a bit crazy to ban over.
I pop in Castlevania IV from time to time, and I like it quite a bit, but it's never been my favorite of the series. It's just too long, really, some levels should be cut and/or shortened. I do really like the music, the remixed tunes are good, and other stage music is great for setting the mood. It's actually surprising to me to hear so many people dislike it!
I can definately see why you may be disappointed playing the game after playing Rondo of Blood. Rondo isn't just my favorite Castlevania game, but it's my favorite game ever, and pretty much everything pales in comparison.
I remember being impressed with CV4 when I first played it BITD, and had often thought of it thru the years as a slightly better game than Bloodlines. But after recently playing thru both games, I find Bloodlines to be the more fun game to play.
Man, I really can't see what's so good about Rondo. I like it only as a prequel to the phenomenal Symphony.
It's the most fun classic castlevania, the graphics are pretty good for the TG-16, it finally fixed the shitty stair controls and the soundtrack is one of the greatest of all time.Quote:

Rondo of Blood has very detailed backgrounds and objects... Very good animation quality that is hard to see in another PCE CD game... Awesome soundtrack, superb presentation quality and the gameplay, as TheSonicRetard already explained, is deeper than the other 16-bit chapters; the replay value is also higher than any other 16-bit Castlevania.
OTHO Super Castlevania IV delivers average presentation, average soundtrack, average controls... And I can think about many SNES games that surpasses it in any tech department. The gameplay is nowhere on par with Rondo's... It lacks the atmosphere, the fun, the challenge, the style... Everything.
Bloodlines looks like a SMS game when you compare its screenshots with Rondo's... The music is great but IMO it lacks in many areas just like Super Castlevania IV.
Finally, SNES's Castlevania: Dracula X is just a beautiful abortion of Rondo of Blood.
No 16-bit Castlevania can touch Rondo of Blood.

These stages look pretty shitty. Rondo also has a few areas that don't look so good, but were talking about a PC Engine Super CD game, not a 2mb of ram game for an almost arcade quality home computer.

I phrased it incorrectly, I'm not saying they're bad. But, compared to the other remixed versions of the tracks it is lackluster. The Dracula X versions were WAY better.
