This is one of the reasons I loved 4th gen so much, we could get close to arcade ports, but always just a step away, so the good devs placed the focus on the feel of these games, and THAT was what was important to me. The focus on pacing, the weight and motion of characters/enemies, the nuts and bolts of what defined the particular characteristics of a great arcade game could be recreated on the hardware. I freaking love that. That's why Sam Sho was so disappointing, it failed to capture a lot of that, where FF2, UMK3, SF2, Etc became great examples of communicating the essence their respective arcade experiences.
