The first Dino Crisis was great, the second I didn't play that much, but it was more of an arcade game. Dino Crisis 3, I've not played, but I've heard it's terrible.
This thread is a misnomer. ;)
Correct answer = any DC game that is not part 3.
The first one really nailed the "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" factor.
Like RE2 and 3, its the PSX game, but running at a higher resolution with hardware acceleration.
I prefer Dino Crisis 1 because it does the horror thing, while DC2 was too action orientated for me.
That dreaded feeling of being hunted, almost all alone on that island.. its Jurassic Park all over again!
DC2 is good too though, but I would have preferred it to be more horror adventure style then straight forward point gathering.
And Dino Crisis 3 never happened.
Dino Crisis 3 was Capcom's lame attempt at going "Hey Xbox owners, feel down that the PS2 owners are getting all these great exclusives and you get jack shit? Well we made you an exclusive, but no one likes it. Never mind that it's a terrible game...oh well, we tried!" Capcom has doing things purposefully half-assed down to a science.
The original Dino Crisis was great, but I never finished playing the entire thing. I was playing it via emulation on the PSP and starting to get frustrated with the controls.
But my god, that one point where a T-Rex just busts through a building window while you're walking through it is great. I was playing on a plane when that part happened and I screamed out loud and everyone though holy hell had broken loose.
I've got the DC version too, I should boot it up and do a full playthrough.
