Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Haven't played too much of Starcraft 64, it's pretty decent though. I guess that makes 4 games that pretty much require the Exp Pak for everything in the game.

Yeah, only the required ones. It'd be hard to make up a list of all the games with Exp. Pak support without testing every last one.

But since you brought it up, this game may not require the Exp. Pak, but I heartily recommend you get one for it... Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. It looks absolutely horrific with the Jumper Pak, absolutely need the Exp. Pak, it looks so much better.

Are you asking about the Expansion Pak (RAM expansion module that plugs into the console), or the Controller Pak (memory carts for the controllers)?

The former has already been answered (relatively few games that require it -many more with optional enhancement support), but the controller pak issue has not really been addressed at all. (there's a ton of N64 games that use controller pak saves rather than on-cart)

And who are you called a modern gamer?! We're on Sega-16 for cripes sake! And don't confuse the Expansion and Controller Paks with each other. (one saves progress with compatible games, the other is a RAM upgrade for game code)

That list is nearly 100% complete, but I see one missing thing -- Ogre Battle 64 does indeed have controller pak support, both for saving to the controller pak and for moving save files between the cartridge and controller pak. Hold start while turning on the system (the usual controller pak menu file access command) to use it. Other than that, I think it's got pretty much everything.

Of course, it's no help for imports, but neither Wikipedia nor anything else have an imports list for Expansion Pak games, either... someday someone should make one, but I don't know that there is one anywhere.

Well, maybe one day I'll start delving into import N64 games, but for now I'm sticking with familiar home turf. Just on shipping alone, JP releases are more expensive than local releases.

You'd think the guys at N64 Forever would have collected all this information already though... Their 3rd party controller thread is just awesome.
