Never seen a SEGA "Seal of Quality" in the Netherlands...
I guess it's just a marketing-thing like the "Nintendo Seal of Quality" (which did appear in the Netherlands).
Still guessing what it means, because even the shittiest games had a "Seal of Quality" on their boxes/cartridges :P

I was looking at my Genesis game library, I just discover I have a canadian version of Ghouls'n ghosts! I have some more games to look at but they're stuck in other place for now.
Ghostbusters is whole different story, it looks like USA version, but it has crap load of text under title.
Yeah as the above guy said, mostly it means the game was officially authorized by Nintendo or Sega for legal sale on their system, unlike unlicensed games which had no first party approval. I also theorized maybe the seal of quality means the overall product is not a piece of garbage too, which can certainly be the case with Nintendo most of the time (good plastic, quality electric components, nice labels and manuals, not so good boxes).
Overall though, I feel it's very silly to still hold a grudge against Nintendo or Sega, thinking the seal of quality ever referred to software quality, since that is 100% subjective. I don't think Alex Kidd in Miracle World is a very good game, but many people do. It would be almost impossible to really put a grade on the quality of a game and not have people complain. One example I remember of this is Quadrun, programmed by Atari for the 2600. It's main focus group testing was with girls who didn't think much of the game. Because of this the game had a limited print run and only offered through Atari's "Fun Club" or whatever it was called. However, most people these days who have played Quadrun feel it's very under-appreciated.
OMG!!! Sly Wolf has an ULTRA RAWRZ MIRRORED Ghouls'n Ghosts!!!
OMG!!! Spaceflea has an ULTRA RAWRZ MIRRORED brain!!!
LOL, actually it's my laptop web camera, it really enjoys mirroring everything until I can turn it around in my photoshop, guess I should done that first before posting. And no, it's not still a mirrored ghouls'n ghosts game in real life, just dream on!
Sly Wolf, are you sure you're copy is Canadian? I've got the same as you, I'm holding it now in fact, and I see nothing that says it's Canadian.
Again, my copy of goblin'n and ghost is from around 1989 where Altered Beast has that same style, if other genesis games back in 1989 has same "canadian" style that came out in USA like Altered Beast and my copy of goblin'n and ghost has. If yes, and than my copy is not really canadian version after all, but at last I learn new everyday.
After I read the above comments, I decided to look at my copy pf "Castle of Illusion" which I bought in 1991: In my case, the manual, box art, and cartridge all read SEGA Genesis and my copy resembles the American version shown in 6th post appearing in this thread right down to the print.
