Any chance that it bombs ?
hmm, well mostly likely not since word "NINTENDO" slapped on it is good reason for any causal gamer to buy it. Their Braindead answer will end up "hey, I want a nintendo!"
I wish Wii should have bombed like virtual boy was a flop. But Wii is a good system anyway.
I for am apathetic to the WiiU. The Wii promised a fundamental change, but we got party games instead. The postulation that casual gaming would make the average person crave "serious" gaming was utter balderdash. Nintendo could have become "current" again, but they chose to use outdated tech once more. It's baffling.
It's just a company, the world certainly didn't end when Sega exited the hardware market. In fact I wish Ninty would become a third party publisher.. other platforms cuold use more family-oriented games.
Now I'm pissed, Wii U will NOT play any gamecube games at all, I'm not kidding.
I guess it wont since consoles really dont "bomb" anymore. Those were the old days.
The latest Wii model doesn't play GC games either. I'm curious as to what will replace the party games.. supposing there's genuine 3rd party interest.
Anyone expecting radical changes in gaming is only fooling themselves.
I definitely don't "get it", but I think Nintendo fans are like Apple fans, they will buy anything new from either company. If it is truly and completely bad they will stop at some point, but if it is mediocre they will make it a successful device anyway.
I'd wager that it will be pretty successful but slightly less successful then the Wii did.
Personally I won't be buying one from day one, Wii was kind of a letdown.
I just want 'classic controls' for every game and not be forced to swing a controller around in the air (wiimote.) Too few Wii games had classic controller support.
What really makes me curious about the Wii U is how much a replacement controller will cost.
I hope it does bomb, but people somehow love defending those mostly mediocre - awful waggle fest games on Nintendo's current console.
If Im playing Zelda I do not want to swing the controller around like a sword and if Im playing Metroid I dont wanna aim the controller at the screen to fire missles. If all that motion control garbage gets dropped or doesnt become mandatory anymore then Ill be satisfied.
I can never get brand loyalty. It's like mini-religion. I'm glad am a brand-atheist!
