Might be for to get Virtua Racing working..try it
But I don't have the hole. Where does it go, and what warrants you to say they CAN work, then now say MAY? It sounds like you don't even know at all what that is.
If anything, it looks like some mod. Without knowing where on the board it goes, and what the hole even is (plug, switch, WHAT?), I have no idea what this is.
I thing is the hole doesn't do anything..no switch, I got it like that..

It's clearly a speed hole. It makes your car go faster.
You can't have a hole that does nothing. I have never seen a 32x play a regular virtua racing cartridge.
Well dude mine plays Virtua Racing and 32X Games with no switch, I got it at Videots in 97 I think, I got it used..So the guy before me knew how to mod it
Is this the only one 32X I have that has the Mod to play Virtua Racing
Perhaps a proper investigation would be in order, maybe a modder here could borrow the 32X and see what this does?
Anyway, this is the reason I need Game Genie on my Megadrive.

And here's a nice beauty shot of the picture tube with Sonic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/oldsonic.jpg
How many inches is the TV??
I have a B/W TV
13”
Damn, that first shot of Virtua Racing not booting just screams "play me!"
That setup is killer for nostalgia.
Back when I had a 19" woodgrain TV (my first TV as a little kid), I had it on the same dresser, AND a NES. I didn't have a SEGA yet, my Dad had not heard about it.
Matter of fact, it was my Dad that brought me into the SEGA world, because without him buying the Genesis 2 for me, I never would have even knew it existed.
I had my Mom's old TV..played the NES and SNES though RF on it...I didn't get in too Sega til 95..when someone sold me there SMS, I didn't get a Genesis til 97
Words cannot describe how much i would love a tv like that
In fact, some company should make a HDTV, with fake wood grain and massive dials at the side.
nah, no thanks. i'm more than happy to leave those days behind;

still, to be honest, i really didn't have it all THAT bad back then. since, while i did indeed have to put up with the usual RF connection and all,
i did get to benefit greatly from the unlimited use of my parents' living room 1988 RCA "DIMENSIA" 27" monitor TV;

my mother still has it to this day, fully functional, with it's remote and paperwork, though no one ever uses it anymore.
still, it DOES mean a lot, as it WAS the first TV set i played my first ever home VG system (Genny) on back in X-MAS '89... :)
