Aw man, sad news indeed.
It's happening everywhere, sometimes for the better (e.g. Eidos - no Hitman games in years, gets brought by Square Enix, we get a new Hitman game).
:(
One of my favourite old school game companies... Yeah, most of their stuff was produced by others, but... so many of my favourite games say Hudson on them. That strange girly voice... "by Husason" at the beginning of some games (ie. Saturn Bomberman). So sad!
My dreams for a PC Engine 2 have just become less likely.
Relax.
At least they're being absorbed by a game company and not outright disbanded.
Not that Konami means anything worthy though.
You could replace Hitman with Deus Ex too.
Yes, I know they started on it a few years before the buy-out, but didn't they continue on it after that?
I would check Wikipedia but my connection's all piss-poor today and won't load it (and other sites) for some fucking reason. It's either my connection or some SOPA-related shit is going on. (EDIT: It wasn't my connection)
Hudson's death over the past year-plus has been such a sad story, it seems like Konami could have managed this so much better, but no... Hudson gets shut down and all of their games in development cancelled. It's such a waste, I mean, I'd think things like Bomberman 3DS would be justifiable titles. I wonder, is Bomberman entirely dead now? I hope not, but we'll have to see.
RIP Hudson;they gave me awesome ass games.
