This is different from a merger. Konami actually owns all of the shares. It bought-off Hudson and kept the Hudson brand name for it's respective franchises for a while. Now all Konami is doing is killing-off the Hudson brand name, taking over Hudson's franchises and re-branding them with the Konami name. I don't think any of said franchises will die-off. We might even be able to see more of the ones that did die-out from before the purchase.
I'm not sure Hudson even employed the talent they had in the 80s and 90s by the time they were acquired. The XBLA Bomberman game isn't bad though.
