Do you know the issue no.? Would like to give that a quick look.

It was. I own all four of the original mini-series. After Issue #3 is when Archie started with the series that continues today.

Each issue shown is near mint with crisp pages and stored safely away until I decide to pull them out.
GAH.
Green eyed sonic!
They should have had the Classic sonic with the old-style running animation and made it 2D, and removed the voiceover and added 16-BIT music. Then they should have made it into a game instead of an advert and released it on a cartridge.
Man, an insurance commercial Sonic would have totally sold the Sega CD, 32X or Saturn better! Great idea!
To be fair, it was 26 episodes spread out across 2 full seasons . . . it was a weekly show (and had some gaps between some weeks), so that's not unusual. (and it's also why the weekday show AoSTH has 65 episodes and Sonic Underground has 40 in spite of both only lasting 1 season -I think Underground didn't even finish 1 season)
Though given how much more AoSTH was re-run in syndication, people would probably recognize those characters more than the SatAM/Archie ones. ;)
They also addressed that prior to the original 1991 Sonic promotional comic. (and similarly in the UK based Sonic the Comic -using basically the same story as the promo comic)
