I just wanna ask about Bandwith
The People who's living with me has Glee on Nexflix on the Wii streaming it & I'm watching Youtube Vids & on Facebook
Will Glee buffer when I'm on youtube, I have a 12 yr old kid yelling at me to get off my PC..because of it
If I go here, Facebook, Sega-16 orother forums will it be ok
I don't really know much about bandwidth, but as Internet users, we're stealing some every day. If the 12 year old kid yells at you again, I'd just tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine.:)

That's absolutely pathetic speed. I would suggest calling your provider and complaining. Unless you did that test while a million other people were downloading stuff.
Anyway, most good routers can do something called Quality of Service or QoS. This lets you set some types of internet usage at a higher priority than others. Say, torrent traffic at low, netflix at high, youtube at medium, etc. Then it'll slow down the hungry torrent programs whenever someone wants to watch a video on netflix, then speed it back up again when they're done. I suggest looking up the manual for your router and finding out how to turn it on.

Yeah, that looks about right for a $30 a month plan. I pay $50 a month for 3Mb/s down and 1Mb/s up.
Tell the little whiner to get a job and help pay for all of that streaming bandwidth. ;)
Timely thread because this week my router starting acting wacky. Its supposed to have a green light and it started flashing red a lot and I thought it was dying. Its back to green now but I noticed that webpages are talking longer to load, down load speeds are a lot slower than they used to be, and when I watch video its constantly pausing. Looks like it is dying I guess. Had it for about a year now and I thought they lasted longer.

Mine started at $35 a month, and has gradually increased to $50 a month with my local ISP (DSL). They actually seem to be making progress, I haven't seen 5Mb/s on DSLreports' speed tests. That upload speed though, whenever I have a video I might as well go do something productive, nothing will work until it finishes uploading.

I only get 2.5 down from ATT. It's the max service they provide where I live. And, sadly, they are my only option.
