I pretty much only cared about Scorpion. I really loved his combo set in MKII in particular. Past that I thought the chicks in leotards were pretty hot when I was a teenager.

Favorite male ninja: Scorpion (basically my favorite character from any game, aside from Sonic), followed by Smoke and Ermac
Least favorite male ninja: Reptile (I still like him, though)
Favorite female ninja: Kitana (my second favorite MK character overall, yet probably my favorite to play as)

Best = Sub Zero and Scorpion because they're the originals.
Worst = The Rest because they're clones, palette swaps, rehashes, and so on. They should just have made a train of different Goros each with his 4 arms growing from a different place: his pate, his mouth, his feet, his crotch, his arse.

Mk1 - 2 favorite Scorpion - easy to control and best fatality . Least Subzero - cheap :o
Mk3 - favorite smoke had harpoon weapon. Least Sector - cheap :o
Mk4 - favorite subzero, least Reptile - not in ninja attire
Mk deadly alliance - favorite Ermac. Least subzero - fighting styles
Mk deception favorite scorpion - classic. Least none
Mk vs dc - never played
