That's precisely the one. Though she isn't really lame, Wonderboy >>>>>>>>>> Asha. She was a disappointment.
It's like... making Shinobi 4 and replacing the main character with a purple haired ninja girl. Come on.

The worst Wonder Boy characters are Hudson's altered versions, the biggest offender that comes to mind is the beetle prong-headed dude in Dynastic Hero.
I'd expect people to call Kiddy Kong lame over Dixie Kong.
Thinking back, I'm starting to think that Ness should have been a choice, because he is the lamest video game character of all time.
I'll never understand the obcession with the mother series, but I hate nearly every RPG with that "dragon quest" style battle system so what do I know.
@ eddie = try Lunar.
Ness isn't lame at all. Neither is Earthbound.
If you don't find the gameplay engaging, that's one thing, but compared to pretty much every other RPG at the time, it was a breath of fresh air. An RPG that doesn't take itself completely seriously to the point of embarrassment? Awesome.
How is that ban-worthy? I'd say your facial hair is far more offensive than any defense of Ness I could hope to make. Not to mention, Ness is a far better protagonist than Alex Kidd.
Besides which, if you think Earthbound sucks then there's no reason to include Ness. The thread topic is "Lame characters in great games," not "which characters do you think are lame."
Thank you for realising this, that understanding would've eliminated half the useless "you forgot" suggestions so far.Quote:

I also tried to make it a 16 bit (style) platformer selection; Super Magnetic Neo was an afterthought though his world is a pretty tight 3D one (like Crash's whom he rips off with the addition of the magnet element). Exclusion of more open 3D worlds is why Spyro didn't make the list. And as I've already remarked Breath of Fire's Ryu would've made the list had I been including RPGs. There had to be some limit.
Alex Kidd I left off (with a certain 16 bit character jerrycoeurl can guess) because I didn't want to be supposed doggedly flaming him after some arguments I've had about his games with the local SMS adherents. As it turns out my opinion seems surprisingly close to the majority.
But eddiespruce, how about leaving the ban smilie alone? If nothing else it must be offputting for new members who don't recognise it as a joke, not to mention older who've tired of the joke. (Mr Smith is an exception).
First of all, Charlie Brown is awesome. I'm sorry if you can't enjoy Peanuts; that is a real tragedy. Secondly, Ness doesn't look like Charlie Brown at all, really, unless anything vaguely human with two eyes + mouth looks like Charlie Brown to you (in which case I would have to assume that Alex Kidd does as well).
What is your opinion based on? Ness has super strength, can defeat monsters and hippies with a yo-yo or a baseball bat, has awesomely powerful psychic attacks, and has thousands of hps. Alex Kidd dies in one hit, and loses a life if someone beats him at Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Earthbound is just such a weird game to focus your hate on. It really sounds like you've never even given it a chance.
