Ufouria / Hebereke is a great game, rarely mentioned. Never released in the US though and pricey. (It's on the Wii VC here.)
Other good games: Little Samson, Kid Icarus, Marios, Tetris, Kirby. And of course HOLY DIVER...
Kickle Cubicle is a great little puzzle platformer from Irem
Metal Storm is a great game from Irem
Life Force is an excellent 1-2 player shmup from Konami, part of the Gradius series
Kid Dracula, recently within the last 6 months procured a copy
Kick Master, kick ass game where you kick enemies

Two of the most replayable games on the system, they just don't get old with friends.
I never did figure out the controls on techmo superbowl , I need to play it some more
