if you have a gameboy advance mighty final fight was also released on the compilation called "capcom classics: mini mix"
Printable View
1. AvP=Simply a a run move away from perfection
2. D&D Shadow Mystara=Great awesome game with rpg elements and a huge selection of characters
3. TMNT=For nostalgic reasons is why it is so high but back in 89 this was IMO the best game out there. I really felt like I was playing the cartoon. Can't say that about the STRIPPED down NES version.
4. SoR 3=The music is so so and the colors are ugly but I really feel that I have more control over my characters than in SoR2.
5. RoDA=Previous versions of GA put me to sleep but this game is a blast to play.
6. Final Fight CD=I played the SNES version before the arcade but the SCD version tops the arcade becasue of its awesome soundtrack and cheesy voice acting.
7. Zombie Revenge=I played the hell out of this one on my DC IDK why the media dogs this game out as it is fun as hell.
8. Dynamite Cop=See above minus the media comment
9. X-Men=This game looked incredible back in 92 and if anybody was lucky to play the 6 player version it was like heaven. This is here sole for nostagia purpose.
10. Sengoku 3=Awesome Neo game that plays extremely well thank you for mame.
I never played Double Dragon till the early 90's and there were much better games out there. I was tempted to put Simpsons on there but I didn't play that game as much as I did the other games. While TiT is better than TMNT I don't remember playing the arcade version at all and I did play it on MAME a little bit. I have never played FF2 or 3.
The first five are definitely in order the second five can be seen as give or take.
1. Double Dragon II: The Revenge (NES)
2. Final Fight
3. Double Dragon (Arcade)
4. Streets of Rage 2
5. X-Men Arcade
6. Captain America and the Avengers (Arcade)
7. Vendetta
8. Undercover Cops
9. Robo Army
10. Double Dragon (NES)
10. Die Hard Arcade
10. Mutation Nation
C'mon this is a Sega site and nobody mentioned Spikeout Battle Street yet??? the Xbox port of the AM2 Model 3 game, anyone¿? In Japan Spikeout is one most succesfull beat'em ups from all time, and the most succesfull arcade game from Sega, it's bigger than Virtua Fighter and Sonic togheter, at least in Japan.
Edit:
Sorry I didn't see your list, rep given:ok:
I remember playing Spikeout on Xbox Live with some Japanese players that were insanely good, I think I just gave up after seeing them.
Console Only:
1. Guardian Heroes (Saturn)
2. Streets of Rage 2 (MD)
3. Sengoku 3 (NG)
4. Final Fight 3 (SNES)
5. RIver City Ransom (NES)
6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4 (SNES)
7. P.O.W: Prisoners of War (NES)
8. Advanced Guardian Heroes (GBA)
9. Golden Axe 2 (MD)
10. Double Dragon 2 (NES)
11. Comix Zone (MD) (Should be higher, but I can't tell where exactly...)
Here at Sega-16 most of the users respect professional reviews more than games, and Spikeout Battlestreet got called "bad" or "mediocre" because western reviewers focus more on cutscene quality than gameplay, or judged the game's challenge level on a handful of online multiplayer matches. Spikeout is incredibly challenging, and deep, in single player, and becomes a much more casual brawler in online multiplayer (which sadly can't be experienced anymore).
Also, this is the second or third post I have seen where somebody repped me, but I don't see the rep. Can you confirm that the rep was sent? I'm curious that there is some forum software tomfoolery afoot.
I have never played Spikeout before but I remember when it came out and I was shocked that it was never ported to the DC but the Xbox instead. I will be looking for it on ebay. This game has been on my must buy list for years but I keep forgetting about it.
That's cool we're all entitled to our opinion. I had a really nice write up of why I liked this game so much, unfortunately it was lost when the site went down a few months ago. I don't really feel like retyping the whole thing but essentially what it came down to was:
1- the controls are fantastic, the best I've seen in any brawler, with a wide variety of useful moves and very intuitive button commands, this game has by far the best set of moves I've seen in any brawler
2- the story it's based on, Maximum Carnage is an amazing story arc in the comics and they stuck to it very faithfully
3- the music, Green Jelly FTW
4- the difficulty, it's spot on, nice gradual learning curve
5- the cast of characters, I'm a Marvel fan, so it's really cool to see this many charactes make an appearance
6- the graphics, nice big sprites, cool grimy looking levels, makes you really feel like you're in a NY ghetto in the 90s
I think most people are just bothered by the lack of 2 player mode so they never give this game a fair chance. Me, personally - I never do 2 player co-op so it doesn't bother me at all.
I'll make a list later, but I know SoR3 is my number 1.The challenge, the controls, the enemy types, the music, everything was perfect in my opinion.
