Yeah, Streets of Rage was such a boring series... Right?
"Dear agostinhobarone,
The excitement keeps growing around Project Y. The poll is having a fierce battle and the MEGA POWER bar start to reach serious levels.
The "game genre" polls will end 3rd of March (1st second of first hour of 3rd of March, GMT), and as of yet, we have no definitive winner. It looks like platformer or beat 'em up will win, but nothing is clear or decided yet.
When the poll is over, we will move on to next one.
Also! For whoever who didn't join yet the Project Y! The minimum investment is 50 GEMS! Check your profile! You may have enough GEMS to join the fun!
Also ending 3rd of March is the competition. If you want a chance to get some GEMS and perhaps a signed Pier Solar OST, place your guess of its number of tracks in a comment to the previous blog post.
Until the poll ends... Have a great time!
WATERMELON TEAM"
I don't think makingagenesis noticed that the highest voted secondary genre is RPG... As in a mix of Beat em up and RPG...
A Beat 'm Up and RPG combined. That reminds me a bit of the Dynasty Warrior series.
There's also Odin Sphere and Muramasa.
I wouldn't mind something like that on the Genesis.
I am hoping for a straight beat em up. Beyond Oasis is what I would call a beat em up RPG and the worst part of that game is when you have to look around for things... lol (dumb as a rock I know).
I'm hoping for something more like River City Ransom, but cyberpunk... because 90s cyberpunk is just awesome.
If we got another Beyond Oasis style game complete with an engrossing combat and weapons system, I could die happy.
I'd think a Beat 'em Up / RPG would be more like the DnD Brawlers (Shadow Over Mystara / Tower of Doom), or even something like Gauntlet (a game whose genre many years ago I decided to personally refer to as either "RPB: Role Playing Brawler" or "Arcade RPG").
I hope WM thinks the same...
Well, less than 5 hours to end the poll and platformer has, dangerously, gained some extra GEMS...
The score now is: Platformer 34.27% VS Beat'em Up 37.85.
Stay alert, platformer shall not pass!
I don't know why we can't have a Platformer/Beat-em up cross...
