Looking at the next poll, what are you guys going to spread your votes?

The first voting topic is setting. To be honest, it would not matter to me. But I wouldn't mind something new of different.

With respect to the second voting topic, I am leaning towards 2 player coop.

With respect to the third voting topic with respect to language, be very careful with this one. The more languages included, the more likely the delay in terms of the release. So vote wisely.

The more surprising category is MEG power. It is now approaching 32 megs!

Thanks StarMist and based off the description I would side for 80/90's/Medieveal. Something new leaves way to much room for b.s.

Most of the bigger investors didn't vote yet. It's too early to analyze the scores...
I know that some cyberpunk supporters didn't vote yet but many investors didn't post on the old theme thread.

By my numbers, only 20%-25% of the GEMS declared their votes on the new poll (comparing the invested ammount to the end of the genre poll; and certainly will be new investors on this poll so it's completely undefined until now).

I have a question about the packaging for the 1st print of the game. Is it going to be like the original Pier Solar with the official Genesis/Mega Drive look, or the re-print Pier Solar that has 0 swag.

Fuck yeah we won! Now I'm saying cyberpunk is the way to go. Anyone who disagrees should read Neuromancer by William Gibson. Alternatively, I could swing for 80/90's Decadence as a second choice. That one is cool too, but there are already so many brawlers with that theme, I say we try something new. Anything but historical or fantasy though, yeeesh, keep those out of the brawler category please.

Also, I think we should try to push this thing to 32 Meg before we start doing anything with the number of characters. I'd rather have a solid game with 1 character than a gimped one with 2 or more.

Can I vote the meg count back down?

djshok keep it interesting and vote for 80/90's decadence right now voting for Cyber-punk would be like bullying some runt kid (nobody wants to be a bully i don't think?). I mean Double Dragon, Final Fight, Streets of Rage (we owe these franchises who are the pillars of the genre to vote for 80/90's decadence). Imagine if Watermelon was actually able to make a better game then these genre defining classics, it would be heaven on earth. Just a couple of thoughts....

I hear ya, but the way I see it, is almost every brawler out there is either medieval or 80's/90's, especially all the good ones. Making another one like that would just seem like yet another SoR wannabe, and to be fair, I don't think anyone could top SoR, especially not with SoR Remake out there. Plus the entire cyberpunk genre is SO intrinsically 80's/early 90's inspired that you basically get 80's/90's decadence plus a little more in it. Seriously, the whole cyberpunk genre is like the 80's on steroids. If you don't believe me, watch Bladerunner or read any of Gibson's Sprawl trilogy (Neuromancer, Count Zero or Mona Lisa Overdrive). That stuff is like the 80's refined to its purest form - sex, drugs, crazy music, night clubs, freaks, gangs, thugs, crime, bad ass action heroes, hot babes - with the addition of some crazy tech and cybernetics that people in the 80's used to dream about... like virtual reality :cool:

agostinhobaroners, you need to do a bit more coaxing for cyber punk. cowboyscowboys, makes a very good point: voting for 80/90's decadence sounds very interesting.

Maybe it's the fact that, for me, the term "cyber punk" evokes memories of "Two Crude Dudes" with their mo-hawks, cut off sleeves, and "Kool Moe Dee" sunglasses.
