It's kind of a redemption machine. You can win more tokens (medals), but that's it.

What a shame.:(

Considering the new Fantasy Zone game we got in 2008, I'm willing to bet that, even if this is only a medal game, it'll still be fucking awesome.

Sega has always been good to fantasy zone.

Yeah, that PS2 Fantasy Zone Complete Collection got pricey in the past 6 months.
Wish I'd picked up a 2nd copy when playasia had them for $20 new.

I have a copy, but I've been more in the market for the korean bootleg arcade PCBs which have been floating around. Only a few hundred official sega PCBs were ever pressed, but lately a korean company has been bootlegging them. I would fucking LOVE to get my hands on one.

You feed the machine arcade currency (quarters, tokens, etc) and it gives you redemption currency (tickets, different kinds of tokens, etc) which you then can take to a counter and use to claim prizes with.

Seems like such a waste of potential. 'Might as well be a panchinslot game. In terms of electronic gaming, it's somewhere between a slot machine and a pinball game. 'Just sad. :?

Yeah, but that's where SegaSammy makes the vast majority of their money. This is their bread and butter.

EDIT: And I'm just happy that the series keeps living on. It's probably Sega's most consistently awesome series.

I look at the picture and imagine a 4-player co-op FZ game where you compete for coins and points, taking on massive bosses together. :(
