I'll just leave this here. :)
People being high actually makes me want to punch them LESS. At least then they have an excuse for the abominations they spew out of their mouths.
Ahahahah. Guys, we should move this to Baloo's wall (or whatever). It's the party I imagined when he said he was going on vacation. ;)
nor do i.
myself, i've never smoked nor imbibed in illicit substances even once in my life, and i plan to keep it that way. a sober mind is a healthy mind, IMO.
i've had a few drinks of Beer in my life, and i once drank an entire bottle of "Hard" Lemonade, but don't believe that that was ever enough
to get me Drunk in any possible way, at least not to my recollection and limited experience in the matter.
that all said, while i myself enjoy my video games, vintage and newer, just fine completely sober of mind, and would personally prefer to keep things that way,
that obviously means that i have no idea at all what such an experience might actually be like,
and who would i be to pass extreme judgement upon something i have no experience in?
that also said, i am an extreme anti-cigarette advocate.
i have never smoked, but i have, thanks to my grandma on my mother's side, long-term experience, since childhood,
on what being a life-long chain-smoker does to one's mind and body.
despite this, my grandma, at 74, is still in surprisingly reasonable good health, considering, (-God be praised-)
but the damage from all that abuse does often make itself known in it's own sad ways...
If you can only have fun by getting High, then you probably have some problems with depression that you need to work out. I have far more fun with a decent gathering of friends playing video games being sober and clean than I ever have being at a large party with tons of drunk/high people. Forgive me for wanting to have fun and actually be able to remember having fun while also being in control of myself while having that fun.
I can have fun without getting high. I don't know where you got this idea.
Well considering that you come off as something of a killjoy here, I'm not surprised at that. If you're they type who gets so annoyed at people having a good time that it makes you want to punch them in the face, then maybe it's a good thing that you don't get invited to more parties.Quote:

Ok, you're forgiven. But weed doesn't make you forget what you've done/go out of control. You're thinking of alcohol.Quote:

This would probably be a good topic to reveal that I was the president of an international fraternity when I was in college.
Rush theta chi!
It does however put your mind in a weird state. And by being in that state it can lead to you doing something really stupid that you most likely wouldn't do if you weren't high. Being high does mess with your ability to reason and your judgement.
And yes, I do feel the urge to punch people who are drunk/high. The reason is you can't even have a conversation with them half the time because they're so mellowed out by it that they can't focus on what you are trying to tell them. I had a few friends who messed with the stuff and would sometimes hop online and play games with myself and others high, and it was a rather dull experience for those not high. The reason was because the people were so high they weren't even trying to play the game. They were just dicking around and laughing at every single thing. And when the rest of us started to get annoyed by it we were suddenly the jerks for getting mad at them.
Who would you rather play a game with? A person who's in a clean frame of mind and knows what they are doing and can actually play the game well, or a person who's mind is so clouded with drugs that they are pretty much like a 2 year old playing the game?
You say I'm on a high horse for not wanting to do the stuff. Why don't you get off your high horse and giving myself and others crap just because we don't want to do the stuff.
Weed doesn't alter your judgement. It relaxes the mind. Two completely different areas of the brain being affected.
Yet people I've been around who were high tended to do extremely stupid things I don't think they'd ever do if they weren't high. Then there's the ones who laugh at every stupid thing that they wouldn't even think was funny if they weren't high. And then there's the ones who can't even focus on a single train of thought when they're high. That's definitely doing something with the ability to focus as well as judugement.
Well, we all know that you wouldn't want to mess with your ability to judge people! ;)
Your experience, not mine. I have lots of friends who get high, lots of friends that don't get high, lots of friends that drink, lots of friends that don't drink. Everyone gets along famously at parties or gatherings. Yeah, people can be annoying when they first start smoking weed, and I'm sorry your friends gave you that perception, but you shouldn't assume that any time any person gets a little high, they start acting like retards.Quote:

It's not like it's crack or meth, man. Weed doesn't make you unable to play video games.Quote:

I say you're on a high horse because you are on a high horse. I'm not giving you crap because you don't want to smoke weed, I'm giving you crap because you're being a close-minded asshole to those that do.Quote:

If you want to smoke the crap go ahead. I'm not going to stop you. Just don't sit here calling me a killjoy because I decide not to do the stuff and I find most people to be extremely annoying when they are high or drunk.
And yeah if relaxation is the goal, there's better alternatives, like playing a video game. I could relax my mind much more quickly and safely by simply watching an episode of Star Trek, or playing a video game.
no, if they do stupid things when they're high, then they're likely just stupid. Research which claims that marijuana alters judgment point to the fact that there are cannaboid receptors located in the judgment regions of the brain, but studies show that regular THC use doesn't actually bind to these regions.
There is a famous psychological study called the Alcohol Placebo effect done at the University of Michigan where 50% of the attendants at a party were given non-alcoholic beer and their behavior studied. They acted drunk, displayed impaired judgment, and reported euphoric feelings, all without any chemicals in their body at all. In short, people act the way they act, because they feel it's acceptable in those situations to act that way.
And you seem to think we give a fuck if you smoke or not. We don't. It's rather annoying, however, to have someone who has never experienced it dictating to us how it's going to make us feel. We already heard all this shit through government mandated propaganda. It's not true. We don't need to hear it again.
