I'll definitely buy this assuming they don't fuck it up. Hopefully there won't be any licensing issues with the soundtrack.
JSR without Dragula isn't JSR, but it's still awesome to see more DC games getting digital re-releases.
I didn't know Sega owned the Guitar Vader songs. I didn't think they did since that stuff was also on a regular GV album.
Okay so...I got Jet Grind Radio new for the Dreamcast back when it could be found at retail, and I still haven't played it. Am I a terrible person?
I've only played it a handful of times. To me it was sort of a combination of the Tony Hawk fad and Sega style gaming. It is well made to be sure, but it doesn't appeal to me. The streetfighter like moves to finish the graffiti was the main attraction in my mind, and that just didn't appeal to me.
Great, here comes another lazy Sega port I already own -_-
I guess that's another game I now have to remove from my list of Dreamcast exclusives, and one more notch for all the stupid teenagers who incessantly go on about how everything worth playing on Dreamcast has been ported.
Do Sega actually make new games anymore?
Another lazy port? Sega has been on absolute fire with their digital download ports lately. They've gone well beyond simple rom packs. The last game that could honestly be called a "lazy port" was Sonic Adventure, and that was, what, 2010?
If there's one dev you shouldn't call "lazy" when it comes to DD ports, it's Sega. Hell, look at the stuff they're adding into the DD port of Virtua Fighter 5. The training mode from VF4e alone would make that a phenomenal port, and yet they're still adding more stuff.
Any port of an existing game using old code is lazy unless it has a complete graphical overhaul, and tons of additions.
What is the point in porting an old game for gods sake, its not like it isn't ridiculously easy to get hold of the original anyway, where is Jet Set Radio 3?!!?
No, I mean like the DS port of Final Fantasy IV, with completely overhauled 3D graphics, extra gameplay features, voice acting, re-done music, movies, etc, that was just about acceptable as a re-release.
Not that I would want that kind of remake for Jet Set Radio anyway, as that would be a huge waste of time, and resources, and may well detract from the original experience, there's just no circumstance where a Jet Set Radio port was required, its just Sega bleeding their old series' dry instead of doing something new, as per usual.
