I mean Xbox3/PS4, not Wii U, with cutting edge graphics and new tracks.
Think SEGA will do it now that they've got the Daytona license back?
I'd also kill for a port of Daytona USA 2 for current-gen.

It wouldn't happen in real life, Sega-Sammy (not to be confused with Sega) isn't smart enough to do that.
Why no WiiU, Graphic advancement is already farther then you could possibly want. If such a remake should be made, there's no reason why it shouldn't be on all the newer consoles.
Edit: Come to think of it, it would be a far better game on the WiiU, due to the new controller, specifically its screen(you could see in back, while also seeing foward as well, you would have a better reaction time, and such).
Arcade racers flow nowadays, this would only ever be a budget title. The big boys moved in with their Car RPGs, and the only casual alternative would be akin to Farmville with cars.
Hey, maybe they should remake Final Lap Twin.
Because clearly you can react better when you take your eyes off the road to look at a screen in your lap showing you what's behind you. The better way to do that is what most racers these days already do. Render that view on the same screen in the same place as where your rear view mirror would be in a real car.
I'd like a new one, but they have to make a new Scud Race first.:D
#1 you could easily look at both at the same time(lol the controller Isn't that big), and #2 if you can switch the perspective(which you most likely would be able to do), seeing ahead of you on a smaller screen, would allow you to take in the info faster, thus react faster.
This post as no logic to it whatsoever and makes absolutely no sense.
Seriously, do you want to hold the controller up so it's in the same frame of view as your TV? I know I wouldn't. And how would putting what you see in front of you on the smaller screen help your reaction time? And that would be a complete waste for your TV screen to have it be the rear view. The way it's done now is probably the best way to do it, as again it's identical to how its done in a real car.
It's how the human brain works, if you can see everything instantly every time(lol which is hard to do if you're using these huge wide screen TVs, unless you're like 10-15 feet away, but then you have distance to deal with), you'll have faster reaction speed. In short, the faster you can fully see something=the faster you can possibly react to such(unless you like driving blind).
Lol well if you don't want to use a feature(and who says you would be looking at both, at all times), It's your choice.
With deep odium. Daytona was passable on the Saturn and dismal on the Dreamcast. Sega has far superior franchises to resurrect and the racing genre is the single best supported currently; Rally Revo has already demonstrated the mediocrity of their racing talents (it's nice, but just nice); and whilst there may be scant arcade style, lap perfectionist racer competition Wipeout is still in the midst with the same lopsided result in its favour Wipeout has always maintained.
I have zero interest in another dry racer in another world of vapid realism. Daytona can not be removed from that world. Let Sega return to one of their franchises that allows an exercise of imagination.
Do you even listen to what you post? Think about it. I mean really think about it. Will I have a faster reaction time when I need to physically move either my head or my controller to see the rear view mirror? Or will it work better when it's set up identical to how it really is in a real car. The answer is obvious, when it's set up how it is in a real car. If all cars were set up the way you are suggesting we'd have significantly more accidents, because people would be constantly taking their eyes off whats in front of them just to see whats behind them.
I would neither be pro or against it. In other words: I wouldn't give a rats ass.
It's not that I've anything against the Daytona USA franchise, but I just don't see how peculiar a new racing game for a CURRENT , SEVENTH GEN console will be. I do know this, though: If I was one in a million in with this line of thought, then surely such a game would be one in a billion. 'Just my two cents on the matter.
Omg do I need to spell everything out? You can only react to something, as fast as you can see it(that is everyones limitations), reflex speed is another facter true, but it "can only possibly" be as fast as you see something/take in the info no matter how fast your reflexes are, you can only react to what you see.
If you have really slow reflexes, it will impede your ability to react to such fast, but doesn't change the potential speed to could in theory react to something.
