I think he hinted in the reviews that those were burned copies, at least for radiant silvergun. I can't imagine just giving those games away. The guy could have loaned them. Other people do that.

Indeed, Keith Apicary is just simply... Unfunny. The clumsy nerd stereotype just doesn't do it for me. He's pretty good at acting the part though.

Speaking of Keith Apicary (or Nathan Barnatt, if you want to use his actual name), I think it's kinda bizarre how some dude known for playing a massive videogame nerd (and he apparently is a massive videogame nerd in real life too considering all of the stuff that he owns and a portable GameCube he made) can end up appearing on Skittles commercials and directing videos for freaking Yelle. It's weird.

He's still cool, though.

KEITH APICARY UNDERRATED? are you kidding? the guy is a genius, funny to watch short and smart videos he is underrated indeed, he deserves his own show on t.v.

I would say that penguinz0 or critical is an example of an UNDERrated channel

Absolutely! Classic Game Room is my favourite by far. I've yet to check out Game Sack... I know I know, shame on me.

Phosis is right. AVGN is all about the nostalgia. That's the main reason I'd watch his vids every now and then. Not a proper games review channel.

And yes, that Nintendo Power one is a very good example of a great AVGN episode. My other favourites are the Castlevania series Halloween episode (of which is the only one I always come back too every once in awhile. Though I don't agree the SCIV is the best, that's for sure. But like that he doesn't like SotN either for the right reasons too) and the Street Fighter one cause he actually play the thing till the end and does a great job of depicting what beating a pretty hard game is like (ie. like the part where he says "where instead of getting better you get worse" lol, that so true. Why I choked on the last stage on Rad Racer just a bit back ago. First few times I seen the final goal just ahead of me, then was never able to get that far again, lol).

I hate the episodes where he tried way too hard to be funny and overly silly. Like anything with shit pickle. >_< And some of the later episodes like the one Christmas episode where them Screw Attack guys make a cameo, are pretty bad. Like he lost his touch + him just focusing on the humor more then the games (also don't like it when he doesn't show the games until he very end).

The biggest thing that sucks about the AVGN is from the perspective of me as a Sega fan too. Mostly because he never had one as a child and that he can't shake that bias off. Just like his buddy Mike too. Really, really sad when I see someone not get Sega. Cause I was there, and know that perspective 100% and how sad it is when someone is like this. :( ... I wonder if it's even possible to shake this bias off fully if you haven't done so is the past when these consoles were still alive? Cause that's when I was able to shake this terrible curse off. ... And this Sega bias is really doing more damage then good with how messed up Youtube viewers can be.

He also goes out of his way to create BS scenarios in games just for the humor. Like take that Castlevania N64 bit about the screwing up the bomb. I have zero idea how he was able to do that. As I tried to screw it up but couldn't figure out how he was able to do it? Did he make it up? Cause it seems full proof from being able to screw it up? As in I couldn't get one before the other. And it really wasn't that hard to figure that out either at all. Then again from watching his Mike & James Mondays, AVGN is surprisingly very bad at games, lol. James on the other hand seems like a normal skilled player. ... Oh, and Castlevania N64 isn't all that bad at all. Better then the directors cut even. Makes me wish this team handled all the 3D vania games instead of that horrible IGA guy totally ruining the series.





But Classic Gameroom really doesn't have anything going for it, outside of his voice and his unique sense of humor. He's supposed to be a review guy, unlike AVGN, and he's very bad at it. How so? Well all his vids are about firing up the games for the very first time, watch him how he sucks because he never played them before, then watch him give a final score based off just a few minutes of gameplay. "I. Freaking. Hate. How. All. Reviews. In the World. Are. LIKE THIS!!!" But Classic Game room takes the cake. Why I can only watch his vids once in a blue moon only. So yeah, I'd pick this guy as overrated.

I find ClementJ642 to be overrated by the Sonic fan base. I mean, he exercised a good sense of criticism towards games like Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06, but who wouldn't in case they bought them? I guess the problem is the fan base itself, because they'll eat up any crap with Sonic's face in it, making any normal guy seem exceptional by comparison.

I like Classic Game Room because it's 5 minutes.

I ain't putting aside 20-30 minutes to watch some games unless it's Game Sack, CGR and Game Sack have excellent pacing.

I've watched all of his Mega Man LPs. Nothing else he does interests me enough. The only other series of his I watched was the Sonic CD LP. I did enjoy his video on the Mega Man fanbase's ridiculous sense of entitlement.
