I got a "genistick" and played a bit "twin cobra" with it.. it wasnt that fun, and that made me wonder the question to the thread.. the accesories and third party " weird" controllers.. are they really worth? do they help to enchace your gaming experience? history says NO! remeber the sega activator, the bat for the genesis and the "genistick" itself? what are your experiences with the legions of accessories for the genesis?
almost every third party controller i have ever used pretty much sucks, no matter what system it's for. (except for like 1 gamecube one, that was pretty comfortable, but it just randomly stopped working one day.)
3rd party dreamcast controllers are some of the worst out of any i've ever used.
For the Genesis, most pads I own are of inferior quality and ergonomics compared to the real deal.

How do you program the Propad? I tried forever to set up the X and Y buttons as the triggers for Shadow Squadron but gave up after half an hour.

You can accomplish almost any button remapping needs using the Tyco Power Plug though...
I, too, have given up on programming it. People claim they can individually program the buttons, I think it's B.S. I just think it's the best 6-button pad for heavy handed people. If you enjoyed the original 3-button pad and want to play the later 6-button titles, you're fall right in with this one.Quote:

I have the Activator and the Tyco Pro Plug. Other than Virtua Racing, I never got much use out of the Activator. The Tyco device was supposed to give "smooth" steering for racing games but that wasn't my experience with it. It didn't seem to make any difference. It did allow me to reprogram buttons and even chain sequences, as I recall, but I didn't really use it. I bought it mainly for the steering.
