^That is the one game, in addition to the PS1's Soul Reaver, that I must agree with you completely.
If it is on the Dreamcast (as opposed to the PS1 or N64, I'll always favor the Dreamcast version). On behalf the "The Great Escape", however, I just like the fact that such a recent 3D game can still be found cartridge format.
But aren't the DS and 3DS versions of Rayman 2 also on cartridges? :)
Really though, I of course think the N64 is amazing and one of the best consoles ever. So yes, for the OP, it's just you.
It's mediocre.
Bad console with two or three good games on it. No point now, though, the video and sound quality is too horrible to even consider today. The controllers have also all fallen apart due to poor design. ALL Nintendo systems rot like this, from NES to Wii.

Somehow I doubt the N64 controllers have dureability issues, but I haven't played the N64 as much as the other Nintendo systems, so I'm not 100% sure, but Nintendo doesn't make controllers that don't last.

Second, by the time Nintendo Wii came out, I already had an amazing collection of gamecube games, all of which were worth playing. And I wasn't disappointed by any of the first party titles, Mario Sunshine was one of the best Mario games ever and Twilight Princess and Four Swords(AMAZING MULTIPLAYER) were fantastic! And Super Smash Bros was easily the best Smash Bros game. Kirby Air Ride was a fun racing game too!Quote:

I've never liked the 64 either. Goldeneye and wrestling games were fun to play when we had a big group of friends together, but I never had a desire to own one. I didn't care for those big blocky polygon graphics in so many games. It just looked so unnatural. And the 64 controller is just a travesty against all that is holy. Tht thing never felt comfortable to me. And why is it so gigantic? What were they thinking? Nintendo's core audience was always children, so why would they design a controller bigger than the heads of the kids playing it? That thing is ridiculous. It makes the Jaguar controller look sleek and sexy. Yeah, during that generation I preferred the Playstation by far.
I thing the XBOX controller is amazing for Halo! And I play with the first controller model! Goldeneye is only an ok game when compared to Halo. Halo 1 & 2 are two of the FPS games ever, those and DOOM.Quote:

I hate most FPS games, although I used to like Goldeneye. It was my first N64 game, and my friends and I played it to death, But that was the problem. Most games become fun again if you go several months/years without playing it, but Goldeneye doesn't. I tried playing Goldeneye for the first time in 3 or 4 years a while ago, and had to turn it off after ten minutes because it was so boring.
For me, Goldeneye will never, ever be fun again. There's no replay value in it for me.
In 99% in Cod clones(aka new school FPS), the maps are crappy, rather it be bad lighting or the maps suck in general. What FPS these days don't have dumbed downed systems(auto aim, life regen), and I think the last time I saw a FPS without loadout, was on the original PS.Quote:

I know some of the reviews of the time talked about some re-done textures, and increased polygon counts on Sonic himself in the GC port, but there's a Youtube video which indicates that the lighting may have been downgraded -
