guilty gear = UNDERRATED
ah.... guilty gear the PERFECT game.. killer music, great graphics and gameplay, in my opinion guilty gear is in the same level with street fighter and king of fighters but I just dont know why the series doesnt have the same succes.. what do you think about the game?

I like the games, and I think they certainly have their fans... but I think they came in to late on the scene. SF, KOF, and MK had long since come to be the prominent 2D fighting games, with tons of others trying to cash in on their varying levels of success.
And then of course all the 3D fighters had already started making their way into the mainstream as well.
I just don't think GG had enough to distinguish itself early on and just got lost.

The problem I have with the Guilty Gear games is that there are too many iterations that seem awfully similar. Does anyone actually play all of them? Who needs Guilty Gear, Guilty Gear X, Guilty Gear X Plus, Guilty Gear XX, Guilty Gear XX #Reload, Guilty Gear XX Slash, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus? Aren't these all practically the same game? I know other fighting games do this, but not to this extent.

The iterations are basically what balance patches are for current games. They wouldn't do that anymore unless it was absolutely necessary, which is why there have technically been at least four iterations of Blazblue but three discs so far.
Guilty Gear AC+ is pretty much the best fighting game you'll find as far as mechanics go. It's just so hard to get into because of its high execution and learning curve that most people dismiss it and go for easier fighters like Marvel vs Capcom. With the rerelease on PSN coming up, hopefully it will get more fans, but if that doesn't happen, again, because of it's difficulty, it will probably just fade away, unfortunately.

I like guilty gear but the learning curve is very high so it takes some time to get used to the controls and learn some of the moves. I haven't played the most recent version accent core plus. the last version I played was judgement for the psp so I havent kept up with the games.
-
I like it but the characters are a little too weird for me and the last boss in the only GG game I played was way too hard.
-
@OP: I tend to agree. Even Guilty Gear on the DS is actually really fun. I don't get the down-hype. It's kind of ridiculous, if you ask me. The games are just beautiful, have great gameplay and, like you said, great music.

GG is pretty good,it's probably the best out of all those doujinesque fighting games.
