One-handed mini car-door removal pretty much says it all.
Fuck... YES!
Chuck Norris got permission from the old folks home for filming!
Also, prediction: We will see a slo-mo roundhouse kick from Van Damme.
Yes, can't wait, looks better than the first.Since Van Damme is in, it's a must see for me.Thanks Sly for not forgetting about real action fans.
I wonder what the conflict between Van Damme's and Stallone's character is all about.
This movie is for the fans.
And I'm a fan. :D
I recently picked up the Director's Cut of the first one and I loved it! It's such a great tribute to ass kicking action films. Can't wait for the 2nd.
Man, this looks like an even more all-star cast than the last one! Van Damme and Chuck Norris on top of Ah-Nuld, Stallone, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Bruce Willis, and Dolph Lundgren. Beautiful stuff there. The only one missing is Segal, shame they couldn't get him on board for this one or the last one.
I really liked the first one, but this one definitely looks like it will be much better! I'm going to have to see this one!
I'm so stoked Van Damme is in it and he's the bad guy...sweet.
If they added Kurt Russell, Bruce Lee and Brandon Lee it'd be perfect. All the same, I'm looking forward to this one almost as much as Avengers tomorrow and Dark Knight Rises this summer. I have a lot of hesitations about both of those, so there I stand.
Heh Kurt Russell owns. But yeah I wasn't big on the first one. I mean did anyone else think the blood always looked too "CG" to be real? I mean what's wrong with good old fashioned squib packs? I thought some of the stabbings looked fake. I dunno movie was okay I guess. But nothing great.
I wanted to watch the first one, but then I found out Jason Statham was in it, so I decided not to.
According to what I've heard, Chuck Norris is such a fundamental holy roller that he said he wouldn't be in the movie unless it was rated PG-13.
Awesome, just awesome. Can't wait to see it.
So, I know Stallone said it'll be R, but Norris pushed for a PG-13 rating... any idea on what this will be rated?
From what I heard, Sly "accidentally" let it slip that it was PG-13, and there was internet fury. Also, Norris's objections seem to be more about sex/cursing than violence, so last I heard they were making it a R for violence, while toning down the language to keep Norris happy. I find this acceptable.
Norris does a lot of things for youths around here. It's pretty standard for somebody who involves themselves with minors as a hobby or career to adjust their own lifestyle to fit things they can do. I would suppose that would include not encouraging drinking, smoking or rated R movies. Starring in a rated R movie would sort of be the same as recommending rated R movies to minors for Norris.
I've never understood the American rating system. Over the top violence, guns, killing, blood = PG-13. Breasts = rated R
Yup.

Typical eddie.
You're going to complain about the acting of an actor in a film filled with people that can't act very well anyway?
Statham's a better actor than like 90% of the first film's cast. Which isn't really saying much... I love Stallone, Lundgren and Arnie, they've got great screen presence, but they aren't exactly masters of their craft when it comes to acting ability.
Watching a movie like Expendables for the acting is like going to a stage production of a Shakespeare play for the explosions and car chases.
Jason Statham is incredibly limited in his acting skills, but he's well suited to the roles he's picked for, and if done properly his flaws are well hidden, Snatch is comedy gold.
Statham is awesome! The Transporter and Crank are two of my favorite films ever. Most well respected masters of their craft actors would never be believable in an ass kicking action film anyway. In my opinion acting has a lot to do with how the person is in real life, their natural charisma, voice, confidence and body language. Take Clint Eastwood for instance, he doesn't exactly have a wide range, but is totally believable and really watchable in his films.
If you couldn't imagine someone else doing a role better, then the actor must be good. I don't see anyone else being able to fill Stathams film roles much better than he does.
Haven't seen Transporter myself, but I adore Crank! The sequel was even more insane, and I do hope there is a part 3.
Even coming from you, that statement sounds absurd. If you can't enjoy a film like Crank, I'd question your capacity to enjoy anything at all.
The Time Machine? Seriously? One of the best movies you've ever seen? :daze:
The Time Machine was absolutely dire, but then so was Evolution and you seem to like that enough to make it representative of you. So perhaps I shouldn't be surprised. :)
You probably enjoyed The Time Machine so much because you have questionable tastes. :p
Seriously, there are hundreds of movies that have come out since TTM that are devoid of sex and excessive violence, but that are actually GOOD films, too.
Van Damme really isnt in it unless there is a pointless training montage in which he gets to do lots of splits using various house hold appliances to assist him in his training
