Genesis 2 + Sega CD + 32X? Curious. I hadn't heard of that.

The price just went up $1
I built a Megadrive + 32x AC. Nice hack
Wow, this is great. Im gonna get one too if they are still available in a few weeks.
Yeah, I'll probably get one of these as well. That's the current problem with my Genesis set up.
It wasn't intentional...
Question - Let's say if I wanted to play a Master System Games on the Genesis 2, take out the 32X while un-hooking the plug from the 32X
Will it be safe for the long run..
Also hooking the Sega CD end to the Genesis or the Master System 2
I know the Sega Trio is made the 3 set-up's
I wouldn't feel safe plugging my Genesis/CD/32X with this.
Well they ran 8 hr stress test with the Adapter, So it works...email them, I did
People already do it themselves using Laptop Power Supplies.
I'd still feel safer with my three original A/C bricks, thank you very much.
Is there any reason why they wouldn't be safe? I'd guess with the home made ones there would be a risk of fire possibly, but these look to much more cleanly done that those.
Are you asking me?
Anyone who cares to answer really.
If you need answers go to the site & email them, I did..
I bought one. If it causes any issues, I have 100's of extra Gennys, SCD's, and 32X's. So I have no worries. :)
The only problem I'd see is if one of the leads gets damaged, and the whole thing fails on you as a result. It's still tempting, however, and they also have a Duo-R adapter that's at a reasonable price, too...
I think when I buy one, I will keep it pluged in to the Back of all 3 System's
Just unplug it from my surge protecter when I'm done
As soon as They release the trio that works with a model 1 genny, They'll have My money. Since this is a custom, mass-produced power supply, I don't think there'll be any problems. Just look at a computer's PSU: A single, high-wattage power supply with multiple connectors for multiple devices. Granted, a computer PSU is a much larger, hardier thing, but the principle is the same. As long as it's built well and tested even better, it should be fine.
And if the only surefire way to test it is to put in an all-dayer in front of My sega, well I'm willing to make that sacrifice.
Unless they programed this thing in with some sort of "fuck you" logic, that isn't how power adapters, or PSU's in pc's, work. Basically it's designed to function up to the power draw needed by all 3 systems being plugged in and doing the most work possible. Anything under that just cuts the power draw. But it isn't like the adapter is pushing that power to the systems 24/7 regardless of what is being used.
Provided these things are up to spec for the task of any combination of 2-3 devices, and are made of reasonable quality (materials and build) there's no reason why they wouldn't work just as well, or better, than the original wall warts.
I'll almost certainly pick one of the duo ones for my model 1 Genny/SCD as the double adapter deal always annoyed me. Although I'd love to see an independent review from someone who is knowledgeable about electronics build quality.
I bought it. Super awesome to trash my lethal weapon power adapters and go to one sexy plug.
*ordering one right now*
GOT TO LOVE MOTHERFUCKING RETR0 SUPPORT WHEN DONE RIGHT!
You bastards are making me want to get one of these. :?
A warning to anyone thinking about getting the Sega Trio - I'm encountering noticeable white horizontal banding on my setup. Model 2 Gen+CD+32X running SCART to an HDTV. I did not encounter this with the usual Sega adapters.
He only tested it on a CRT using AV...
e-mail him & tell him
Insufficient output filtering...
Only the standard SCART hum that is present in all such setups. No more than when using normal power adapters.
Done.
No, but I will when I have the chance. I emailed him about it.
Could someone please describe to me what white horizontal banding actually is?
A thick line that moves up or down the screen (can't remember which). It's white and occurs during ground loops in an analog video signel of any video system. In audio and video their annoying. In electrical wiring in building (faulty wiring) it can be dangerous and hurt people. It's usually descriped as the current in the signel acting as alternating current of the utility's electrical supply between two devices one sending the signel and the one recieving it. Creating a buzz at 60 hz with harmonics at 120 Hz and 240 Hz. For 50hz with harmonics at 100 hz and 200 hz or something to it's effect. This has alot of unwanted effects on the quality of the signels being generated and received.
Is there any fix I can do that you guys are aware of from a general electronics perspective?
