Well... For the first time in my life, I've finally found one cart that just wont play. It's a copy of Global Gladiators. And it actually came CIB. I've tried it through my 32x, Genesis alone and my Retrogen Portable after multiple alcohol swab cleanings and a thorough board cleaning. Opening the cart showed a completely clean, superbly intact PCB board. I wonder what it could be.

I bought a CIB japanese Virtua Racing for MD and it never worked. So should I try open it, clean it with alcohol?
I've had several over the years, mosty found in bundles of loose carts. A Street Fighter 2 genesis cart that randomly resets but can run for up to 20 minutes. I opened and cleaned the hell out of it but no luck. Also a rainbow island japanese cart that is doa, no signs of life and no amount of cleaning will fix it.
I've had two dead carts out of 183 games owned. The Adventures of Batman and Robin and most recently my Double Dragon (Accolade) cart. Threw the Batman one away after I replaced the cap to no effect. I haven't troubleshot the DD one yet so we'll see.
I could imagine that Double Dragon works ONLY on a Genesis 1 so can it be you only tried to play that on a model 2 console?Quote:

Luckily I donīt own any that I know of, but after this thread I may need to test them all! :)
Any way, Iīve come across 2 of them, one was sonic and the other alien 3, both pal versions, Iīve heard before its common with alien 3, but both were not mine.
Also, I got a supposedly non working sonic and knuckles, and it didnīt really work even after I was done cleaning it, a few days later I give it another go and it started working, and does work till this day.
The trick? Nothing special really, just alcohol and not giving up on it ;)
