This game was not I repeat NOT rare as people think it was around 2 to 3 years ago. You see complete copies for around $45 to $50. Now this year, the cart alone goes for $350. What the hell happen? I don't believe this was due to that video mike uploaded. I just can't believe how sudden the price fucking sky rocketed.

I grieve at how this is happening across the board on retro stuff. I feel like in many cases I'm just slipping in before the insanity (several Genesis/Saturn games), or missing the boat before it sails (Panzer Saga).
I would be tempted to sell my loose cart for $350 but I highly doubt I could get that much, especially since my cartridge has "A.R." (short for ass rammer, I assume, who else would deface a game like that?) printed in felt pen all over the label.
Maybe it's resellers and investors that have manipulated the market for this game and others. Whatever the reason, I don't like it.
This is why I'm in favor of publishers releasing these games as downloads to quell the fanatical prices down a bit for carts.
collecting games is just another thing that people with way too much money are destroying nowadays. period. most dont even play the games and spend more time looking for box upgrades or a better label. im glad i sold all my high dollar games and switched over to all JP games, get em cheap and play them in uncensored glory. on top of that most of the games i own are original purchases so i can say that i truly remember when the games first came out and not pretend im getting some sort of fake ass nostalgia. im just saying :/
I thought Hagane was "SUPPOSEDLY" a Blockbuster exclusive release? SNES stuff is just stupidly expensive at this point anyway so I tend not to buy SNES games unless I find them pretty cheap.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to put my SNES/SFC collection up on eBay soon. Thinking of starting the bidding at 5-6000 and see if anyone is interested. I'll certainly miss it. Though it is easily my least played collection, and money is more important right now.
It WAS due to the video Mike uploaded. This shit HAS happened with AVGN episodes, shit game that goes for pennies goes for dollars now. Moonwalker is a good example, then MJ died so of course it goes for a little bit now for that reason. Good game though.

I remember about ten years ago when GoodDealGames was selling Hagane and several other SNES games, new, for about $6. I'm still kicking myself for not buying up the entire lot. I got a new Elemental Master from them for $8. What gets me is that people pop a woody for Hagane, but ignore Shinobi III.
I also remember new copies of Hagane for ~$10
When I started using eBay in late 1999 there were all these new copies of some SNES game called Castlevania Dracula X for around $10 or less. Too bad I believed the few online reviews I found which said that game was crap :(

Because "OMG SUPER NINTENDO!" I had a real life discussion with someone once about some of the best 16-bit action games and they were talking about stuff like Mega Man X and I mentioned Shinobi III was up there and just got laughed at. I didn't continue the discussion.Quote:
