I wanna take back what I said about DBZ MD - it's not a pretty solid fighter, it is pretty shallow, but I do think it's better than Cyborg or Shaq; miles better.
No, but Heavy Nova does look surprisingly similar.

YuYu Hakusho: Makyō Tōitsusen is not a Japan-exclusive release. This video is more of a "spotlight" than a "top ten".
What Kamahl said, and this:

They look kinda similar to me. One bad game with you playing as a humanoid robot beating the stuffing out of other robots all look a like to me, tbh.
The difference is that Cyborg Justice is, like other Beat em Ups, a group fighting game, many robots against you. Also you have Z axis movement like other Beat em Ups, whereas Heavy Nova is just move left and right and jump like most One on One Fighters. One of the cool things about Cyborg Justice is that you can pick up or rip off the parts of enemy robots and use them to "power up" as you progress throughout the level. It also doesn't have Heavy Nova's clunky controls, Cyborg Justice plays like a standard Beat em Up with that one twist and it's just fugly.

They are totally different types of games. Heavy Nova is the prequel to Black Hole Assault which, contrary to most internet sources, isn't a bad game at all.
Two new videos!
First up, today's upload...a brand new Video Game Bass cover!
Vapor Trail - Main Theme:

My bass has been out of commission for some time, but it finally came back from the repair shop today. Here's a cover of a classic Mega Drive shmup theme to celebrate! I'm kind of rusty, but I think it came out alright. More VG bass covers to come in the future, hopefully!
And the main presentation...
The Great Giana Sisters Story:

Finally done with top 10's, so here's a proper review - the Giana Sisters, from the first game all the way to Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams!
Very happy with this vid - nice to do something that's got both old and new stuff. It was a challenge as well - it required a bit more than simply cutting game footage over the narration at points...and of course, I had to record my DS as well! Trying to record a DS isn't easy, but it's doable so long as you've got a tripod. The hardest part is finding somewhere where you can record AND play the game comfortably - obviously you can't just hold it in your hands, you'll need to lay it on a flat surface. Always remember to record the DS longways - you want to rotate it in post. And it's usually best if you crop the footage to the screen where all the action is and enlarge that so you've got more video than black bars.
Lots of screwing around...better than using an emulator though. In my experience, all DS emulators are terrible. And by their nature, they don't play at all well with Fraps.
Enjoy!
Man such good vids. Makes me want to get a C64.
Cool videos as always Kimble.
I should have posted my latest big project here sooner, but things have been a little hectic on the real life front. But here's three videos for you people to look at!
THE A-Z OF LICENSED GAMES:
A - Aliens versus Predator (PC, 1999)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QarPfPSOk4A
B - Beavis and Butt-Head (Mega Drive, 1994)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXk5XUxZiXg
C - Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (Mega Drive, 1990)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUg45tX-Fhc
Why licensed games? Because I love doing them more than pretty much anything else. They're usually flawed enough to talk about in detail, and they allow me to do lots of extra bits that aren't necessarily about games - it's really quite fun. Still, it's a crazy project to do, especially when I'm hoping to post a new vid every 3 days (of course, this meant I had to get a backlog of vids ready before I started posting them). They're simple vids though - one featured (usually good) game, a few honourable mentions, and then one shit game - I don't want the vids to go too far over 10 minutes. Some of the letters are a bit worrying due to how little stuff there is to actually cover on 'em, but it should still be a fun project - I'm currently preparing to edit G and I'm still enjoying myself...anyway, enjoy the vids!
I noticed you slipping these up there you sneaky bastard. By the way, can you email me a bottle of whatever it is you've got that lets you make so many videos? I lost mine.
Just watched these for the first time. Excellent stuff.
I really liked your NHL 94 review as a huge hockey fan. You definitely did that game justice as far as the review goes. There is a website dedicated to the game nhl94.com which I'm shocked you didn't mention. They STILL play this game and compete in leagues.
Easily one of the most influential sports games in video game history! Keep it up.
