To give him a little more credit, I don't think it's just who he knows anymore. He was good in The Departed and Body of Lies, and great in Shutter Island and Inception. He gets better with every movie.
And understand, I despised the guy back when Titanic came out. Back then he was like what Zack Efron is now.
Yeah, recently I saw The Man In The Iron Mask, and for me it was pretty much an excuse to put him in another movie after the whole Titanic thingQuote:

It's old, but I just saw The Ninth Gate for the first time.
Personally, I really liked it. It was a cool neo-noir that plodded along at a relaxed pace, and had all of the imagery and commentary typical of a Roman "Kidtoucher" Polanski film, whose work I happen to really enjoy. It had enough supernatural elements involved to keep it interesting, while never venturing into really "cheesy" territory. The ending was a disappointment for many, but I found it fairly fitting. It was ultimately no Rosemary's Baby, but it was a decent movie which I would probably watch again. No masterpiece, but worth the price of admission.
I showed my friend Magnolia, which is still incredible, but he didn't seem to care as much about it.
Then he showed me The Fifth Element, and I can't believe it took me this long to see it!

I watched Casablanca for the first time today and oh mah gah! I loved it! I watched it on Blu-Ray and the transfer was pretty much about perfect.
I just watched Fight Club on Blu-Ray. It was a good movie but a bit too wierd in the end.
Two Towers. That whole damn trilogy is something that if you just sit down to watch for a few minutes, you cant walk away.
Tonight I watched Tenchi The Movie/Tenchi Muyo in love and a 40 minutes long documentary about Forrest gump. Tenchi The Movie was a nice Anime, I watched it on Laserdisc with Japanese as spoken languages without subtitles. It wasn't hard to understand what was going on and what they talked about. When I watched the documentary, I didn't know that Forrest Gump had so much CGI in it as they tell you in the documentary. Again, this was also on Laserdisc. But no matter what, I don't really like Forrest Gump at all.
I'm going tomorrow to watch Inception (not in stupid 3D). It's apparently very overrated (#3 on IMDb's top 250?!) but then anything mainstream has always been known for its sheer stupidity.
Well, I'll never go by the IMDB-results, they are merely a guideline, and new movies always tend to rise to the top very quickly only to fall and eventually completely drop out of that list over time...
Saw Inception for myself this weekend, though, and I greatly enjoyed it. Good movie. Some people in the cinema had problems following the course of the plot, though.
Inception was pretty average. The premise was very flawed to begin with, but the big budget effects kept me in my seat. Good score, but little else to say really.
"Your Gonna Miss Me" It's a documentary about Roky Erickson. Really good but also very sad.
