Death Wish 4: The Crackdown
Death Race 2 - It was every bit as entertaining as the first one. I'm learning to trust Rotten Tomatoes less and less.
Let Me In - good
I Spit on your Grave - good
Limitless - Good
The Dead Zone
Last night was "High Plains Drifter".
Watched Tree of Life...really pretty screensaver.
Then I rushed to Cowboy's and Aliens because I needed some explosions. And got them.
1. Cowboys and Aliens - It was exactly what I wanted to watch. I didn't expect an academy award-winning script, just one that would hold a story; as well as good-to-satisfying performances, so I left happy.
2. Rise of the Planet of the Apes - I must say that I'm one of the few people who enjoyed Tim Burton's retake thoroughly. In fact, I really wanted to see a sequel to it. But this is one reboot/prequel I must say was outstanding. Very seldom do we get to see movies like this. It really takes on the duality between Ape and Man we saw in the originals. I loved it.
9th Company. It sort of felt like a Soviet Full metal jacket. There were a few scenes I could have done with out but overall I enjoyed it.
New Jack City. Decent movie. Nothing special.
Super 8: don't bother. After the first really promising 20 minutes, the movie collapses like a 10-story building.
Hang em high, and soldier.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a LITTLE slow, but nothing bad. It picks up completely as soon as "it" begins, and it's just fucking great. One moment in particular had me give a Tim Allen-ish grunt of aproval. Fuck yes.
Watched Kevin Smith's Red State this morning.
It's playing all weekend on PPV and VOD. Goes theatrical in October.
*Thumbs up!
71: Into the Fire. I wish this hadn't made this feel so much like Hollywood. I enjoyed it regardless as there are so few newer movies about the Korean War.
