I just found it funny because it was the exact demographic that was going nuts 4-5 years ago over Twilight. Suppose most audiences are fickle as anyone else.
Watched a japanese movie called Goth. It was entertaining enough. It was a rather quiet movie. The thing I liked most is that the female lead was played by Takahashi Rin, who would go on to play Shinken Pink in Samurai Sentai Shinkenger :)
I might just rent in some time in the future, a friend of mine is always forcing me to rent new movies with him, so at least if I leave it I can watch something I'm half interested in.

I've been continuing my Woody Allen marathon, and I have to say I've enjoyed most of the ones I've seen, and I think he's definitely one of my favourite directors in regards to characterisation, unfortunately he doesn't seem to write himself with much diversity though, and sometimes I think his films may actually benefit from him stepping out of the limelight.
Mighty Aphrodite - I was wary of watching this one, as I was thinking it was going to be an embarrassing film about old man Woody Allen chasing some young woman, but it didn't actually turn out like that at all (he was trying to get her a husband in the film), it was a funny film and the ending was very cool.
Sweet and Lowdown - surprisingly enough not only did this one not have Allen in it, but it wasn't a comedy either, it was a drama, the movie was good, characters were well written as usual, interesting movie.
------------------------------------
Outside of the Woody Allen watching, I ran into a "Top 250 90s movies" list on the net, and for some reason I've taken it upon myself to try to watch everything I hadn't seen yet.
Reality Bytes - Turned out to be a Winona Ryder romcom, didn't like it, the characters were essentially judgemental, and elitist, and they spent much of the movie talking about how much better they are than other people, mainly I hated the male lead, and hoped for an unhappy ending where he'd be killed (no such luck)
Being John Malkovich - This ended up being much weirder than I thought it was going to be, it was a funny, well thought out movie, but I'm not sure how I feel about it, its one of the only movies which I watched and felt was pretty much completely amoral, its like the writer didn't really even realise the characters were doing something wrong LOL
Gattacca - Sci-fi movie about test-tube babies, and the triumph of the human soul (or something), I really liked this movie, it was very well directed, the music was great, the characters were likeable, it had an interesting premise, and there were some very memorable scenes with excellent dialogue.
Virgin Suicides - This was a pretty good film, I didn't love it as much as the critics seemed to, but it was enjoyable, and fairly unique, I did spend the ending credits of the film saying "eh?" a lot though, as the ending seemed to be a little bit sudden.
Patriot Games - This one ended up being an action film with Sean Bean as an Irish terrorist who tries to kill some royal family members but is stopped by all american joe Harrison Ford whilst he's on holiday, Sean Bean breaks out of prison and goes to America to get revenge. This was alright, the plot was a bit silly.
Glengarry Glen Ross - This one ended up being a drama movie about real estate salesman, I watched it with a bit of trepidation as it started out seeming like it was going to be the dullest movie plot ever, but it was a pretty good movie, good dialogue, cool actors, I don't think I would watch it again though tbh.
Strange Days - Sci Fi movie kinda' about a murderer, and a conspiracy. Essentially in this world there this device which can record thought and emotions, it then saves to a minidisk, and other people can experience what happened as though they were there, the killer records the thoughts of his victim, and then posts it to her friend so he can experience her death. This film was OK, I thought it was watchable enough but not very inspired.
Underworld: Awakening. It was ok. The sequels really have brought the series down in quality, imo.
The Raid: Redemption: It was simple, but I enjoyed it much better than Underworld: Awakening. All I have to ask is, though; what's up with the green blood in The Raid?
Ironclad I was expecting something very sub par, but I really enjoyed the gore.
Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End. What utter drivel. Depp is such an overrated actor.
^That movie was utter 'mierda'. Such is what you'd expect with most Bruckeimer productions; especially his sequels. The series should have stopped at part 3, imo.
Also, for some reason, Depp was fat in this one and felt stumpier than the previous iterations.
Where did you see green blood in The Raid?
^One of the first dudes they try to save after they pull him off the gunfire is oozing green blood. There must have been at least there takes for it. I think it's the dude that falls halfway down the hole and is shot from below (I could be wrong. It could've been someone else in the movie).
Maybe I just didn't notice.
Course, I was distracted by everything else.
Btw if you haven't seen The Raid yet, do NOT watch this. You need to experience it all at once.
Prometheus: Loved it. But with an ending a la Mission to Mars, I'm really left with more questions than answers, and a proper Alien prequel will not do this one justice. What we need now is a direct sequel to Prometheus.
Madagascar 3 - Europe's Most Wanted: It was adorable.
Snow White and the Huntsman: Yup. I see where you guys were coming from. I actually enjoyed Battleship way more than this. This one felt like it wanted to be so many things at once, it became a convoluted, rushed story with complete lack of character development (albeit a long film). Oh, and this must have bee Charlize Theron's worst acting ever (even worse than Kristen Stewart's, who managed to show how narrow her acting range can be :?).
I think if I had to choose a best thing about it, it would be Charlize Theron's acting. She got genuinely creepy at times.
^Agree to disagree. ;)
Wrath of the Titans: It neither improved nor deteriorated from the original; a bland, predictable story. That they're talking about a third installment worries me to no end. And I still can't picture Sam Worthington as an action hero; even less-so in this film (he looks like a old lady with a sword. WTF hollywood).
The Avengers. It's currently the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time, next to Avatar and Titanic. There are plans on rereleasing the movie with 35 minutes of extra footage. If they do this, it will be the highest grossing of all time.
