And Kane Kosugi? lol. I remember him from the old-school ninja movies with his dad, Sho Kosugi. Those movies were pretty awesome back in the day and really capitalized on that 80's ninja craze. For whatever reason, Sho felt the need to cast his real life kids as his children in several of them, their acting was terrible.

Ninja III: The Domination, was his best flick. Revenge of the Ninja was also pretty awesome. I think some of those are on netflix actually.

A History of Violence

I'll give it an 8/10.

And seeing as this was the last major Hollywood movie to be released on VHS, I dusted off the old VCR and watched it "retro" style. :p

Just watched Watchmen, well quarter of it anyway. What a boring, mess of a movie. I like a good film noir, but it was just too slow and I just didn't find any of the characters likeable in the least; no way I could put up with this for three hours. I tried to, but could muster the patience. Fuck it.

Pirates of Silicon Valley. I really liked this movie.

I just watched Groundhog Day again. I was really surprised by the ending because I was certain I recall it ending with Murray being perpetually stuck in the time loop.

That is odd I thought it was something to do with him driving a golf cart through Gamla Stan drunk.

It's been months and months since I've watched a movie. Just never anything that interests me.

"Robot and Frank" was recommended by a friend and I saw a local RedBox had it, so gave it a try. Definitely the smartest, no nonsense movie I've seen in a long time.

And I almost got on a movie kick and followed that up with "The Way" which I found in a WalMart $5 bin. "
The US box art has to be some of the worst box art I've ever experienced. It is so base and simplistic and does not relate anything of the movie.
The movie itself appealed to me because I knew it was a wandering travel type film. Didn't know much else about it.
Wholly enjoyable, with maybe a few periods of boredom, some comedy and more than a few moving sections which brought a tear to my eye. Getting sentimental in my old age.
It was enriching to see, but I kinda felt I'd have rather done something else with those two hours (which is how I usually feel after watching just about any movie anymore)

Curse of Chucky 7/10

Im a fan of the first 3 movies not so much the last 2 when they became comedies. There were rumors that this movie ignores Bride and Seed of Chucky and pretends they dont exsist and thats not true. I would say the first hour plus of this movie is pretty good. Very creepy and atmospheric with a good cast. They did a lot with the low budget. The problem for me is that the last 10 or 15 min or whatever it goes downhill fast and that obviously carried over to the ending which I didnt like. They threw in some pointless cameos from characters from previous movies which you think would be great if you a fan but it only ends up making things more confusing which is a reason why I dont like the last 15 min+.

Bride wasn't bad, it was tolerable in places. Now Seed, that was bad. You mention cameos -- anyone from the first movie?

Yes Andy from the first movie in a scene after the end credits. The other cameo is Jennifer Tilly from Bride and Seed shows up towards the end. The original rumors were that Bride and Seed were going to be ignored and pretended like they didnt exsist but thats not true because they throw in references to those movies. Yeah Bride wasnt that bad but I wish they just ignored it and made this movie take place after part 3.

It's the same guy who wrote the first movie directing this (just like Bride & Seed) right? I don't think he ever had any intention to not include throwbacks to the those films. Ah but anyway, it's cool to hear Andy made an appearance, even if it was a small one.

Ninja Masters was a decent flick. I'd recommend watching it at least once.

Gravity: Really enjoyed it. Saw it in IMAX 3D.

The Great Mouse Detective

Decent mid 80s animated feature. This one had Barrie Ingham and Vincent Price. Word of advice, do not get the version released in the late 90s - too many trailers. The one I was watching came out right after I was born.

Wow... I think I've just seen the worst movie of all time...

And I don't use that phrase lightly! I've seen 4 differtent films by legendary shlock director Ed wood (5 if you count "I woke up early the day I died"), and 2 by Coleman Francis. I've watched every move by infamous director Uwe Boll at least in excerpts. I love titles like "Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter", "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" or "Two front teeth" (Clauseferatu ftw!). I own an near-complete set of MST3k. I've endured boring japanese biopics, psychedelic westerns made in Mexico and the pseudo-scientific bullcrap of trainwrecks like "The Core" or "What the *bleep* do we know?".

I'm just saying that so you know where I'm coming from when I'm saying that the german Event-TV-Movie "Helden - Wenn dein Land dich braucht" is by far the worst movie I've ever seen: The plot is stupid and full of holes, the premise of the movie doesn't make any sense whatsoever, the filmmakers got any field of science imaginable wrong (at one point they compare a black hole to a hurricane, then completely botch the explanation of what constitutes a Hurricane). Time and space within the movie's plot are all over thay place. The film had to be crunched to get finished on time, and the seams are noticable: Errors in cuts, half-finished special effects, actors that flub their lines. A speech by the german Bundeskanzler is pretty much ripped verbatim from Bill Pullman's speech as the president in "Independence Day", only far, far worse. The movie is riddled with clichés, bad dialogues, bad puns, bad acting (the five year olds in this movie - a kindergarten group visiting the control center of the LHC in Geneva... no, really!) are by far the best performers!), stupid eye-candy (one of the very first shots of the movie is a cleavage shot of - I kid you not - Polish cucumber collectors!). They have a teenage hacker that manages to hack into CERN... by entering "decrypt system" on his DOS-Prompt! (The camera even stays on-screen long enough so one can see the error message "The command "decrypt" is either mistyped or can't be found" !) People are "protected" from entering a bridge that is on the verge of collapse by being shot at by the army. We hear of earthquakes and rioters that are never seen. A hospital that is threatened by an earthquake is being evacuated... into an old mineshaft (yeah, that's sure to withstand any earthquake!). There is not single minute of this movie that manages to do ANYTHING right. The movie is a mess. A catastrophic, horrible, TWO AND A HALF HOUR LONG mess!

It's glorious. Such a catastrophe has to be seen to be believed!

I wonder if there'll ever be an english language version. Somehow I doubt that, but those video "reviewers" like the Nostalgia Critic or such would have a field day with that one...
