Well, I give up. The magazines in question keep returning to their faulty position. I know I wont be extending those springs anymore. Every time I fill them up to the max (17rds), it completely defeats the purpose by breaking them in. I will live with the no-slide-lock until it truly starts to piss me off or else. But now I'm beginning to think that other issue (the one about the "sticky" slide) is the one that is really pissing me off. I'd say these mags aren't really supposed to be filled to the max, otherwise they wouldn't be this finicky. You can feel the utter resistance when you try to insert a full mag. And that sticky issue is not necessarily the ammunition type, but the fact that the gun will do this whenever there is a full mag. The point is, it's a bit of a pain in the ass to rack that slide on a full mag. Other than that, the ammo shot great; but that's not even the point, since I already know it shoots well.

Sig Sauer Mosquito: (.22lr)
Remington Yellow Jacket: (I decided to go ahead and cycle through the 20 rds I had for home defense).
20rds
Remington 22 Thunderbolt (1/2 a 500rd brick)

The Yellow Jackets shot perfectly; but we know this already. There was only one failure-to-fire with the Thunderbolt ammo (1 out of 250 rds). The round fired just fine after a second pull of the trigger. I was so impressed with this ammo, that I passed by Bass Pro on the way back and picked-up three more 500rd bricks. They were $21 this time around (Just last week they were priced at $31). I hope they stay this cheap and they continue to make them. I love this ammo.

(Once again, the top is the FNX-9, the bottom is the Mosquito. This time around, I opted to draw a big black dot at heart level. I guess I learned how to shoot my Mosquito after all. I still need some practice with my FNX-9, though. I also need it to stop pissing me off so much).

My friend has one and it didn't look like that. They have the magazine in the grip like a handgun, this didn't. To me the 955 reminds me of a shotgun then anything else.

Definitely some nice shooting scifi, at what range was the target at.

My permit just arrived! :D

Mark that 10 days from the day I went to the regional office for my appointment (Application/Finger-Printing/Photo) to the day the card arrived in the mail.

P.S.> I hate my picture. I don't know why the heck I smiled for. I look like some crazy dude. I may just have to go back and get another picture. :?

Growing up, there were a lot of guns around the house. Mostly my brothers guns, who I shared a room with. We'd often go out 'plinking' (if that's how you spell it). No shooting ranges, just ditches and we'd bring stuff to shoot. Maybe it's different from county to county, but people did this all the time in southern Arizona. My favorite was filling up the 5 gallon plastic pals with water and watch them explode (deer slug if I remember right). That was when I was around 16 years old. Strange though, I never bought a gun for myself when I got old enough. Not sure why. I have nothing against guns.

The guns we had (I say 'we', cause we shared a room and I considered them part mine ;) ) were:

-Spas 12 gauge with fold down stock (looked exactly like this: http://www.gophoto.it/view.php?i=htt...g#.UGYtHlG6R8E ). It had a button for semi-auto mode, if you had the rounds that had enough kick to reload it. There was also a slot for a magazine, but never have that. That pic doesn't show, but I remember the handle folding to the side (like a old german grease gun). That was a fun gun.
- 44 mag revolver. I honestly don't remember much about the gun other than it had an extended barrel and was pretty heavy.
- Mac-11. That gun looked great, but sucked. You had to use full metal jack 9mm round else it would jam (that was alot of money for the ammo). It had a longer barrel (if you can call it that) but you should aim worth shit with it. My brother modified the clip to hold 32 rounds and modified the trigger (it was still semi auto) so it would literally bounce off your finger. You went through that whole 32 rounds in a few seconds. It was fun until you released how much money you just wasted.
- Colt nickle plate 45 auto. I never got to fire it though.

Out of all the guns I got to use back in those days (friends would bring along theirs), my fathers single shot 12 gauge was my favorite. It was light, which meant it had a lot of kick to it. I learned to shoot with that when I was 12. Almost knocked me on my ass. I used to love the feel of the kick against my shoulder (especially with a deer slug shot). No other gun ever had that much kick. I got to go skeet shooting with it, which is probably the most fun I've ever had with a gun (better than targets or plinking).

Edit: On a side note, I got to see a real AK-47 a couple of months ago. We had a film shoot and the owns of the area we were filimg at had brought their AKs to show off in the movie. I never know AK47's were that DAMN loud. My god.....

Hah, I fired an AK 47 this summer too. Man was that thing loud, really easy to shoot though.

Congratulations on your ccw. I think most ccw pictures look a bit crazy.

@Tomaitheus: That was a moving story. Sounds like you had lots of fun growing up.

@MadMax: Yeah, I guess you're right. What are you gonna do, right? I'm just content right now I don't have to wait the 7-day cool-off period here in FL when buying my next firearm. This means now I can really go to a gun show and enjoy myself by selecting exactly what I want. People may hate me for this, but last time I went to a gun show, I was offered a 45ACP Hi-Point (don't judge) for $125. I know it's a shitty piece of plastic and metal, but it will do the job. I wasn't exactly ready for a $700+ 1911, if you know what I mean.

Almost strictly working, I am however, shooting the 20 Gauge event next wednesday, so I'm going to be mixing work with pleasure!!

Hopefully I do well...but I'm working looong days, woke up at 6am this morning, got back to the hotel around 1030 tonight. Thankfully the bar is open late hahaha.

I wouldn't own a hi-point even if it was given to me. Every hi-point I have seen has had some part of it break during use. Even as a first gun its a bad choice. I'd much rather spend double or triple that amount and get something that has good to great reliability and performance that will last a while. Cheap doesn't make a good starter gun unless its a .22.

^I guess that makes us different, then. For me, the math is simple. More guns = better.
