It looks ok and all but I still like my big monster PS3 phat
Genesis comes in 3 sizes it's only fair.
From the pics I've seen of this new PS3 thus far it reminds me of a cheap supermarket brand DVD player... it better be CHEAP!
I'm glad I still have my PS3 phat. :rock::chewie:
I smell bankruptcy....
That's partially correct, but the power supply of the 60 gig PS3 was pretty huge, because the setup required a lot of power. I opened up a 60 gig PS3 to repair it and decided to completely clean it out. The lower heat-sink and fan assembly is huge and takes up 50% of the space inside of the box. I can't imagine how many watts that fan required.
Sony isn't going bankrupt anytime soon but they need to address the failing Vita before a new home console is released. The PS3 can survive as it stands. The Vita can not.
The situation is dire when certain B&M stores have placed the Vita back amongst the clearance items in the video game section. Certainly things could turn around but it is still alarming considering the system was released in the States this past February. Currently the PS3 sells "well" and easily surpasses the 360 by tens of thousands of units a week and should not be in a hurry to release a new console until the hemorrhaging Vita can be revived in some capacity. The upcoming AC is supposedly a system seller as is the All-Stars Battle Royale. Call me skeptical. Even with what appears to be a boring holiday season, the 3DS doesn't seem to be in any danger.
I don't know why anyone would want a Vita right now. The software selection kind of sucks and Sony seems to be working harder at getting PSP and PSOne titles working on the console. If you already have a PSP, those features won't sell you on a Vita.
I don't have any interest in the vita myself, I'm fine with my psp. anyway about the new super slim ps3, the more I look at it the more I think that it would look so much better without the ridges on top.
Being outsold 4/5-1 to the 3DS shows it isn't capturing the interest of gamers. Even the PSP is slowing down in sales although Japan sometimes creates slight boosts in sales when they release some of the gems we never get to see.
Sony and Microsoft both want to release a new system a.s.a.p. although I doubt they have learned from the mistakes during the release of their current console(s). Sony's reasoning for not offering a drop is insulting to consumers and makes me believe they are out of sorts late in the game.
