Advantages of SNES hardware vs. Genesis hardware
I've been studying 68K assembly to experiment with Genesis homebrew and hacking, among other things.
I however would like to know the pros and cons of SNES and Genesis hardware, besides graphics and sound, as I may also be interested in SNES homebrew. Supposedly Genesis is the fastest since it has 7mhz CPU, however I don't know how it performs when everything is put together.
I know SNES has mode7 but that's simply off the bat. I mean, can't you create a similar engine for a Genesis game? And what about the space limitations? Answers to these and other questions appreciated, thanks.
