That only worked on the NES. The SNES did more than Genesis didn't! I always felt the Genesis sound was too tinny. Beyond that SEGA had plenty of marketing for the Genesis, and Game Gear. Probably more than Nintendo. They had PLENTY of 3rd party support. They just went the wrong way when the system got older. I had no issue with the SEGA CD, except that the games weren't enough of an improvement over regular Genesis. Then came the 32X, which was almost pointless. SNES was done right by going to expansion cart chips like SA-1, DSP-1, and Super FX. Only added maybe $10 a game to customers, if even.
