The porcupine thing seems obvious to me too . . . and honestly it would actually fall into the category that Mike Matz complained about in the first place when introduced to Sonic. (an animal that average North American kids could recognize) Not that that mattered in the long run anyway.

no more new sonic friends, there's enough as it is and plenty that sega forgot about that haven't been in games since the 90s. sega pretty much forgot these characters from the classic sonic era: bean, bark, fang, ray, mighty.
Has anybody mentioned a badger yet? I'd go for a badger pall as long as he was mean as hell and chased enemies and friends alike for no good reason.
