Sonic The Hedgehog 1 - Cover

Hi
Today, while checking my Sonic The Hedgehog cover, I found something odd. The game I have that came with the system I bought back in 1993 (if I remember well) have a different cover than the one I see everywhere... The cover is the same as the Mega Drive but at the top it shows the Genesis Logo. And if you look at the bottom, you can read:

FOR USE WITH THE SEGA MEGA DRIVE VIDEO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM

It's probably nothing special... but do someone have any info on that?

BTW, the manual is the long one with 3 languages...

Is it rare or commun?

That's the canadian release. It is very rare outside of Canada. I had a Revenge of Shinobi that had a manual like that. I threw the game away, but kept the manual. :)

Yes, i'm from Quebec, Canada. Personnaly I think it look better than the more commun cover, but maybe it's because i'm used to it. I have a couple of games with "longs" manuals too.

What's the third language they speak in Canada?

I live in the US, and I saw Taz-Mania with this cover at the salvation army, but it didn't have the PAL/Canadian manual, and I recall it said Genesis, instead of Mega Drive.

It was over a month ago, and I didn't buy it, because it wasn't anything different... unlike the canadian sonic.

It didn't have Batman, and the cart was in poor shape anyway. BEsides the game is oh so fucking common as is.

Oh, man I had that art cover too when I owned STH for the Genesis, I was wondering why it was different than the normal art for so many years...I am also Canadian but I don't have it anymore, it got stolen back in 2002.

Who steals a dirt common game like "Sonic the Hedgehog"?

This is a rare cross-over Genesis/Mega Drive version of Sonic the Hedgehog, just like Beggar Prince. Very valuable for thieves!

I don't know exactly, it was some r-tard thief that took all my consoles, besides my Genesis, but unfortunately I left the Sonic game out on the table while the rest of my Genesis stuff was hidden in a closet.
