it's medium bad. not as bad as Jaws, but not as fun as duck hunt
good I just bought III yesterday
*Looks at thread title*
Yup, this game still sucks ;).
Nah is not bad indeed is one of the best of the games on the nes but the difficulty kills the awesomeness of the game
It's really the Turtle Van parts that aggravate me the most.
It's just Nintendo Hard. :P
Back in the day I remember playing it and actually beating it repeatedly - it was extremely tough and unforgiving but so were many games of that era. I don't think I could beat it now - i've lost those elite skills and alot of retrogames of the era require me to use cheats to get anywhere anymore. There some particularily frustrating parts sure but the worst was swimming through the water with the seaweed and such - I could usually get up to there but that's what would normally kill me off every time afterwards. I'm sure I got up to the seaweed a few dozen times, I probably only beat the game 3-4 times though.
The game is good. Not the greatest ever, but good.
complete it in one sitting ?
that seems to suggest i ever finished it at all
which i didnt
and it always ends up the same anyway i manage to get past the dam stage get to level 3 and then get lost with steam rollers killing my turtles game over
insults fly and the controller is thrown at the tv
but its not a bad game it has great graphics for the time decent music
it is just balls to the wall hard
had tournament fighter when i was younger love dit back then and was quite good at it
these days i couldnt get through the first round with it
never liked turtles in time much i could never get the throw the foot soldiers at the screen gimmick to work right
which made the fight against shredder harder then it ought to be
i always liked hyperstone heist much much better
I have not played the Sega version but the NES version is trash. I tried to replay it recently and it was as bad as I remember.
The controls are TERRIBLE. It's not that they are not responsive is it that the games hit boxes and design is so bad that it is nearly unplayable.
Hitboxes would be my biggest complaint - it is horrible.
I have a lot of nostalgia for it but it's shit. Pointless level design. Enemies not even from TMNT. Mandatory levels that do nothing. Like nothing. Go in place fight the hundred shitty enemies get a health item only to lose it when you have to fight to get back out. Game has great music and a real looker for NES but it's truely fucking awful just because it's level design is nonsense.
The game is as good as Castlevania II ... which is to say, ‘flawed, but not nearly as bad as certain novelty review channels would lead you to believe.’
It’s badass compared to the Amiga version, which looks good, but controls like crap.
