5. Tony La Russa Baseball (Genesis)
Beat this for the Sega-16 beat 'em all, playing a shortened season and mercilessly exploiting the overly generous savegame options. More details here. 3/10 is the site rating, and I think that's about right.

1. Phantasy Star II (Megadrive)
2.Kings bounty (Megadrive)
3. Batman (Megadrive)
I had this game as a kid and really thought it was difficult.. So i decided to play this again and realised it was quite easy.. considering the amount of lives and continues.. and the bosses are ridiculously easy if you have enough batarangs (i think that's what they are)
7b. Contra (NES):
Okay, now I'll be boastful. Ran through the game from beginning to end on one credit.
No continues.
I agree, I'm pretty pleased with myself.
:)
Oh, and with you, Star Wolf, for your new posting style. I meant to say that earlier.
I just accidentally posted this in the haul thread :daze:

Beat Blues Brothers 2000 on N64 today. It's a short but fun little game.
There's no ending credits so I just showed the ending cutscene and my file with all the notes, instruments, and band members.
6. Bonkers (Genesis)
Beat this on Easy and Normal yesterday, and Hard today. (You actually get an extra ending cutscene on Hard, which was a nice touch.)
I actually enjoyed the game a bit more on Hard, but my comments from the beat-'em-all thread still stand. Above all, instantly respawning enemies are never acceptable in a game like this. But it's still navigable and sometimes fun, so I think the site review's grade -- 5/10 -- is fair.
8. Rolling Thunder 3 (Genesis):
I'm hoping this counts towards the "beat 'em all" total. Beat on normal difficulty.
As for a review, um... I liked it?
1. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks - DS
http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1359083642
This has been a really slow start for me. I wasn't even going to pick up and try to finish a new game until at least May, but when I opened this baby up and started it, I just couldn't put it down for like 3 days. What a treat. Great sequel to Phantom Hourglass. Next up: Exile.
#24 Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay (PC)- Normally, I stay away from movie tie in games, but after reading reviews for this one, I was curious enough to pick it up during the end of the year sale at GOG. Not a bad game. Pretty good graphics, an interesting story, and fun gameplay that mixes stealth and FPS.
#25 Rapid Hero (Arcade)- Generic shmup with some decent tunes, and having to fight new forms of the same boss over and over.
#26 Midnight Resistance (Genesis)- It lost the two player mode, but it gained a fantastic sound engine, surpassing the arcade music by a fair bit. It's a pretty generic run 'n gun really, but it's done well with some interesting stages.
#27 Thunder Fox (Genesis)- Taito's arcade port that lost a few stages, but isn't too bad. Nice music and a solid (if a bit unfair at times) challenge.
#28 Marble Madness (Genesis)- Graphically decent port, but when it comes to the controls and music, EA dropped the shiny little ball in a big way.
#29 Deadly Moves (Genesis)- A simple fighter with a jump button, that had some decent graphics and music, but the control scheme was poorly thought out. And with only one character to play as, it lacks the replay value of even Fatal Fury.
#30 Shadow Blasters (Genesis)- It's not quite as back as some say it is, but this game's below average in many ways.
#31 Steel Empire (Genesis)- Fantastic shmup with a steam punk style.
#32 Race Drivin' (Genesis)- The first game was a so-so port that at least captured the overall look and gameplay of the arcade original. But this sequel was just too much for the Genesis (or the programmers) to handle, and it comes off worse.
#33 Mystical Fighter (Genesis)- A simple beat 'em up with decent graphics and some pretty good tunes.
#34 Steel Talons (Genesis)- A port of an older Atari polygon arcade game, the Genesis title suffers mostly from a bad framerate, with controls that snap you back to being level unnaturally. The visuals aren't too bad, nor are the sound effects, but the game's just sluggish and that good.
#35 Zany Golf (Genesis)- A mini golfing game with only nine holes, and a painfully slow framerate. The visuals are OK, but the rest of the game is just subpar.
7. Super Volleyball (Genesis)
Poorly-documented and not very attractive, but actually pretty fun when you get the hang of it. I wrote more about it in the beat-'em-all thread. I'd give it 6/10, give or take.
Old school Doom 1 on the PC, aint played for years!
9. TMNT: Hyperstone Heist (Genesis):
Tonight I sat down with a resolve to complete the game. After a couple running starts, I finally made it all the way to Shredder's elevator playing "legit" before I ran out of continues. After that I beefed up the number of lives and continues, but was surprised to find that I died more often that way. Shredder gave me a bit of trouble until I saw through his chintzy pattern, and then I beat him without taking a single hit.
8. Sylvester and Tweety in Cagey Capers (Genesis)
Though very easy and occasionally buggy, this bird-chasing platformer is a pleasure to play, and captures the spirit of the cartoon quite well. More comments here in the beat-'em-all thread. I'd give it 7/10.
1. Phantasy Star II (Megadrive)
2. Kings Bounty (Megadrive)
3. Batman (Megadrive)
4. Task force harrier EX - Again another game that i had as a kid but never completed
5. Phantasy Star IV - Well i have finally completed it, great game, although i think i missed a few bits, i never learned megid and never fought alis, but i done it (probably all thanks to wren)
Doom 2 and Doom 3 and wow did Doom 3 freak the crap out of me.
#36 Battle Squadron (Genesis)- A pretty average shmup on the Amiga, got a decent port to the Genesis. Nothing really revolutionary or all that memorable, outside of the strange things you can configure in the options menu.
#37 F-22 Interceptor (Genesis)- A flight simulator with a decent framerate? Pretty much, as long as you stay in the cockpit view. The mission range pretty wildly from insanely short (under thirty seconds), to decently long (5-plus minutes), with a pretty good selection of views, weapons and enemy types.
#38 Valis: The Phantasm Soldier (Genesis)- The first game in the series, that came out after the third game. Makes sense. It's a fair game visually and music-wise, but there are issues. Painfully slow cinemas thanks to the text, some choppy animation in areas, rather long stretches without enemies, and a pretty low difficulty level (except for a few bosses near the end) don't do it any favors.
#39 American Gladiators (Genesis)- What a horrid, busted game.
#40 Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend (Genesis)- Beat the story mode in the game. Not a bad pool game, really. Pretty good graphics, several game types to choose from, and some good options for hitting the ball. Not all that difficult, but not quite a cakewalk either.
#41 Syd of Valis (Genesis)- Yeah. This isn't a good game, but you could see some potential there. The graphics and music were all right, but the floaty jumps, collision detection, and lack of difficulty hurt it.
9. Basketball (Atari 2600)
I've had this game (in one form or another) since I was a kid, but I'm not sure whether I ever actually beat the computer. Today I pulled it out on a whim, and beat the CPU something like 40-38 on B difficulty, where both sides can move equally fast.
Then I played on A difficulty, where the player is slower than the compter. I tied my first match 38-38 (I think), then beat the CPU in my second match, 16-14, when I got the lead, happened to land on a spot where the computer went into an endless loop of unsuccessful attempts to steal the ball, and simply ran out the clock.
Silly to give a game like this a grade, but why not 7/10: it's crude and simplistic, sure, but undeniably fun. It might be one of the most fun basketball games I've ever played, actually, which probably reflects my lack of interest in the sport (though I liked Double Dribble on NES).
I finally got an A ranking on stick canyon in nights into dreams, which means that I have an A on every level. also,I unlocked every present in Christmas nights.
Hoshi no Kirby hard mode no continue mutha f#ckazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Classic game that I played only for the first time last weekend thanks to my gb / gbc dev cart. God I was deprived as a kid.
1. Phantasy Star II (Megadrive)
2. Kings Bounty (Megadrive)
3. Batman (Megadrive)
4. Task force harrier EX (Megadrive)
5. Phantasy Star IV (Megadrive)
6. DiRT Showdown (Xbox 360) - Great game, Love the Dirt series. But this on felt a little short. But also loved the rampage mode
7. London 2012 (Xbox 360) - Completed the olympics game campaign on medium and hard getting all golds on both except for 2 silvers and 1 bronze on hard
#1: Legacy of Kain: Defiance (PC)
Alot more stable than the console version, most of the bugs present in the Vorador's Mansion area seem to have been fixed. Played the game with my 360 controller, but had to remap the buttons with Xpadder; movement was a little awkward, but alas, it worked. Awesome game, just wished they'd bloody continue the series. :(
Esper Dream 2 (famicom with english fanslation, on a real cart)
http://imgboot.com/images/Drakon/esperdream2.jpg
This game is awesome and really fun. Too bad it's a totally obscure famicom only game that came out in 1992. This game really should have also come out on the snes. You can really tell the developers were trying to make something that was limited by the famicom hardware. Otherwise it's an amazing game that more people should play.
1. Phantasy Star II (Megadrive)
2. Kings Bounty (Megadrive)
3. Batman (Megadrive)
4. Task force harrier EX (Megadrive)
5. Phantasy Star IV (Megadrive)
6. DiRT Showdown (Xbox 360)
7. London 2012 (Xbox 360)
8. Sonic Fighters (XBLA)
9. Virtua Fighter 2 (XBLA) - Both very easy games, completed them both within about an hour and a half
10. Super C (NES):
Oh. My. Gawd.
Apparently there are people out there that maintain this game is easier than the original? I don't know about that! Maybe it's just because I've been playing Contra for 25 years and I've only recently started playing its sequel ("recently" = 2013).
But with about twice as many bullets and enemies flying around the screen, how can it possibly be any easier? It was a technical marvel, in fact, particularly compared to all those Mega Man games I've been playing, recently.
I cheated, of course. Used the 10 Life code. I continued once at Stage 5. Oddly enough, I blew right through Stages 7 & 8 without dying once (I'd never made it past 7 before tonight, I might add).
I imagine, just like with Contra, I'll make another run at finishing the game with no extra-life code and with no continues, but for now, seeing the credits roll is good enough.
Lord, super C is painfully hard. Then again the first contra is painfully hard too haha.
I can beat the game with no hits in most cases. Sometimes I get killed on Stage6 when one of those mouths from the ground gets me.
Beat virtual on for Saturn. Last boss is easy with viper ii. Most of the time I played was just figuring out which characters are good and bad against each other.
#42 X-Perts (Genesis)- Beating this game hurt. It's so bad in so many areas, and that it's drawn out makes it even worse.
#43 Arrow Flash (Genesis)- A shmup that gets forgotten about, in part because it doesn't do much to stand out. It's not a bad game, it's just wholly average.
#44 Bimini Run (Genesis)- Other than the wave effect, it's a rather dull, unpleasant sounding, not that great looking game with a radio man who just won't shut up and leave Kenji alone.
#45 Arcus Odyssey (Genesis)- A game I always enjoyed, despite the busted tom drum that never plays (it just makes a quite static click). Nice graphics and music, good challenge, quite the opening cinema, and evening a good ending.
#46 Toughman Contest (Genesis)- I'd never played this game before, and found it to be fun. Not very attractive background graphics, but nicely done characters with a healthy roster to fight through.
#47 Super Battletank: War in the Gulf (Genesis)- Another game I'd never played before. This one was done by the same folks behind RDF:Global Conflict, and this makes that game feel like Super Battletank 3 quite frankly. The controls and missions are very similar, but the Genesis game obviously lacks the visual boost that RDF got.
#48 Galahad (Genesis)- A solid game with some issues in terms of the gameplay. Nice graphics, good music, pretty solid controls, but a bit too long for its own good.
I beat the house of the dead on the original machine today.
You're in a different class.
Yeah all those arcade collectors / appreciators who coined the phrase "1cc" or "one credit clear", they must all be fake. I appreciate arcade games that're programmed to give you something special for clearing the game without credit feeding, mostly happens in shmups.

Beat this the other day. I've gotta say it was very easy, especially for a traditional JRPG. The hardest thing was figuring out where to go sometimes! Fantastic game though.
10. Super Hydlide (Genesis)
Unfinished business from last year, so it feels good to get this knocked out. I posted some comments in the beat-'em-all thread here. I think 7/10 is about right.
Default
1. Phantasy Star II (Megadrive)
2. Kings Bounty (Megadrive)
3. Batman (Megadrive)
4. Task force harrier EX (Megadrive)
5. Phantasy Star IV (Megadrive)
6. DiRT Showdown (Xbox 360)
7. London 2012 (Xbox 360)
8. Sonic Fighters (XBLA)
9. Virtua Fighter 2 (XBLA)
10. Bulletstorm (Xbox 360) - Loved this game, Finished the campaign on very hard, but still have a few echo levels that i need to do
11. Lord of the Rings Vol. 1 (SNES)
Beat this today with my fiancée, in another bit of unfinished business. I think I played this in the early 1990s and was intrigued, and then got about halfway through the game in emulation in the early 2000s before I gave up. I didn't know then that the manual is full of maps, which make a huge difference in the game's playability -- and this time around, having a second person was also a big help in terms of morale, navigation, and crowd control (there are up to eight characters onscreen, though for most of the game it's six or fewer).
I have a weird affection for Lord of the Rings Vol. 1, partly because it hits a lot of notes that resonate with me. On the most literal level, the soundtrack is among my favorites on the SNES; though there are only a few tracks, it has a haunting, timeless quality that works perfectly for the game. And I'm fond of wide-open RPGs with big, bleak spaces that defy the convention of having a plot point in every nook and an inn in every town.
But even if you like the game's huge, near-empty dungeons and confusing mazes (as I do), there's no denying that it's deeply flawed. Combat is simplistic, enemy variety is minimal at best, the vast majority of the game consists of endless fetch quests, and the scheme for controlling your characters is pointlessly rigid: why not let the players decide which controllers to assign to which characters? Why not let Player Two control at least one additional character, so that Player One doesn't have to move the whole wolfpack at once?
But we persevered, and thankfully my fiancée likes this kind of game almost as much as I do. We actually used the 5P multitap to allow for individual control of the weaker hobbits, since otherwise it was too complicated to level them up, but once they gained a few levels it was smooth sailing. The Barrow Downs were extremely complex and time-consuming, with multiple locations that use identical layouts (it saves ROM space and it confuses the hell out of the player!), and we had to map the whole thing out carefully to make our way through the maze of interconnected caves.
The Mines of Moria were technically longer, but much less confusing, and making our way to the end was simply a matter of time. We came really close to resetting when Aragorn got killed at the final battle, but the game restarted us just before the Balrog's room (minus Gimli, Gandalf, and Legolas) and we got him on the second try.
...and I'm really glad we didn't reset, because there's apparently a horrible bug -- or a horrible design choice, not sure which: none of the passwords we got in Moria worked when we tried to input them. OK, it's fine if we're not allowed to use passwords once we're in Moria...well, it's not really fine, since Moria takes a good 3-4 hours to complete. But why in the world would you give the player passwords that you know won't validate?!
I think this was probably a bug, though, since the game is riddled with them. The most powerful weapons in the game actually reduce Aragorn's attack power, thanks to a rollover bug; the gems we carefully collected in order to open the gates of Moria turn out to be totally unneeded, thanks to another bug; and loads of smaller bugs, like secondary characters taking off in random directions for no reason, or mysteriously rotating mid-combat so they're facing the wrong way.
Anyway, I'll always have a soft spot for Lord of the Rings Vol. 1, but realistically it deserves no better than 4/10. As I said to my fiancée, I have no idea who they thought the target audience would be for this game; it takes far too many liberties to appeal to Tolkien fans, but it doesn't have enough depth for RPG fans, and it's much too tedious for all but the most patient gamers.
BTW the game's character portraits range from pretty good (Gandalf, Gimli) to terrible (Sam, Aragorn), and then you have this:

...wasn't she in Hanson?
Just beat Dead Space 3. Loved it.
The ending left everything open which I am happy about, especially regarding Isaac
I feel kind of empty now that I've finished it, I can never get enough Dead Space.
3. 4 Elements DS
4. Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones GBA
5. Shanghai II: Dragon’s Eye Genesis
