If Orbi isn't what MrSega says it is, then what is it? (Hows that for a conversation starter?)
One thing I have to say is with so many systems coming out this year that are somewhat obscure or Android based, or steam based,It wouldn't totally surprise me.
Has mrsega ever made a prediction that actually came true?
I mean...regurgitating what you read on the internet in random places is acceptable to a certain degree....but eventually it's good to consider that maybe there's misinformation floating around.
The one Trademark on just the name that MrSega keeps ignoring pretty much clearly details what this is going to be:
http://trademarks.justia.com/855/17/orbi-85517235.html
From that it's pretty easy to gather it's going to be an amusement park kind of attraction. The Trademark that MrSega has in his signature is most likely for the logo that will go on all the merchandise and equipment they intend to sell and use in the facility. This would explain why the one in his Signature encompasses everything from touch screens and game consoles to cookie jars, venetian blinds and frozen yogurt. Sega made a similar attraction in Dubai a few years ago. This is most likely something similar. Or they might just be changing the name of the center in Dubai.
This is honestly the most practical conclusion you can come to from all that patent diarrhea.

In other SEGA forum communties like Dreamcast-Talk(when they had a Rumors forum) I stated that in 2012, SEGA would begin to move away from multiplatform publishing and transistion its 3rd party brand to mostly digital, mobile & PC content.
That came true. With "Sega Networks".
Link?
If they get into tablet gaming, I hardly see how that would be "returning" as they would not be making a home console, nor do I see how it would make them the "Messiah" of console gaming.
In fact, the only thing I see it doing, if true, is that they would have no real impact aside from maybe some good casual games and half assed emulated/remade old IP.
Tablet/phone games are getting slightly more mature yes... but it's taking 2 VERY large ecosystems to do so (IOS and Android).
Unless Sega's potential new tablet is running one of those OS's (and of course, IOS would be highly unlikely), I don't see it making much headway or gaining much in the way of 3rd party support.
Either way... I still don't see any potential for any "serious announcement" from any of this.
There are several marketing concepts SEGA is believed to be planning for the tablet.
First, the tablet will be marketed as the world's first mainstream gaming tablet & will base the idea of using it as an Analog TV device and plug in console using Saturn's redesigned "PlaySega" controllers, and retooled Dreamcast pads with 6 buttons, bluetooth and tiny very low end Blackberry VMUs.
Second, the Tablet won't use mobile archecture. SEGA wants the tablet to have Laptop features and specifications,so that 1. It would make RingEdge 2 Arcade ports & PC Ports easy. And 2. It would be capable of competing against Xbox Durango & PS NEAR using a budgetary designed, non PC OEM, off-the-shelf componant design from 2010 technology.
Third, in order to acheive this, SEGA is believed to have contracted Hitachi/Renasas,NEC,Nvidia,ARM,Imagination Tech to assemble an ARM RISC instruction set CPU like SH-12, a customized lower watted, modified Nvidia GeForce 500 Series GPU & customized IM Power VR 5 VDP chip thats unrelated to mobile family designed with engines simular to AMD Radeon 5970.
Although, ARM's 32-bit line survives today under "Cortex" & RISC has long been defunct, its not out of realm of possibility that SEGA was able to reobtain an RISC build. After all, they ARE still protecting Saturn & Dreamcast's patents.
SEGA is also rumored to be planning their own version of UMD according to a patent issued last summer that I'll post later.
As for 3rd party support, as long as the Tablet has silicon that can compete against the gen systems from Mircosoft & Sony, the Tablet will have no problem getting mainstream publishers on board.
Finally, in order for "SEGA POD" to be successful, SEGA will need a distributor. LG,Toshiba,Vizio,Alienware are all very likely candidates.
