Ever wonder what Sega's hardware would look like if they were all Anime Girls? Well, you probably haven't. But now you don't have to because Sega has done it for you for an upcoming PS Vita game they are making called Samurai and Dragons:

Mega CD looks badass. I like the design for Magical Girl Saturn, too. Is this an RPG because I'd be legitimately interested in playing it if not for the fact that it would never get localized over here.

That's nice MrSega, but the designs weren't all fully released back then. And there's some misinformation in there as well. The game has nothing to do with HyperDimension Neptunia. It's a port of Sega's iOS game Kingdom Conquest.

Picture the Genesis's cartridge slot and expansion slot, the Sega CD's expansion slot and the 32X's cartridge connector and slot. Now take that and apply it to the "female anime character" idea...

Don't worry, Sega will let it happen eventually.

None of those designs make much sense to me. They don't really reflect the console their based on

They kind of do. The Mega CD one if you look closely actually has the model 1 Genesis design for the top armor piece and the belt is the disc Drive. The Saturn one resembles NiGHTS and has some hints towards the Dual CPU and Dual VDP set up.

I don't see what 32X girl is so happy about. She should know she is worthless abomination that should have never been.

I want to find a girl to play SEGA games with me ,in every night....

The 32X is not a worthless abomination. While I agree in hindsight it probably shouldn't have been released, it's certainly not worthless.

They don't show any sort of distinctiveness at all. I've seen gobs of user made PSO characters with consoles floating over their shoulders that look better.

Look more closely and you'll see distinctiveness between them.

Uh, they take two colors from the systems and make a generic cruddy looking anime girl. Sorry, even Final Fantasy characters have more distinctiveness about them. Even Bayformers have more distinct looks.

Again, look more closely. The Armor the Mega CD 1 personification is wearing is actually the Mega CD Hardware. The Mega CD 2 one again has the hardware incorporated into the clothing. There's other small details like that in all of them if you look for it. And remember these are based on the Japanese systems and their Japanese Library. The Sega CD isn't that well known for RPGs and Adventure games in the US, but if I remember correctly in Japan it had more games in those genres, and that appears to be reflected in the Mega CD 1 personification. The Saturn one again fits the idea of NiGHTS and RPGs/Adventure games. The Mega Drive in Japan if I remember correctly was advertised as a more high-end piece of equipment and the Personification reflects that as well.

Bah, I felt looking as close as I already did was too creepy for my tastes. Yes, they have little details from the actual consoles on their suits, no that does not make them any less generic as characters to my eyes. I would normally hope that some 2nd party Sega developer could have fun personifying Sega hardware, but the art style and choice to use per-pubescant girls exclusively, loses me entirely.

Well it's done by the same people who designed Hatsune Miku and the other Vocaloids. So that explains the overall style of the designs.

I should say that the Super 32X doll looks pretty appropriate. It's like she's laughing at all the morons who don't "get" her.

I guess this means the 32X is canon afterall.

Yep. It's funny how many people here STILL think the 32X was the worst thing since federal income taxes. About the most you can possibly say against it is that given SoJ's plan for the Saturn, it was unnecessary. Anything else is just the ignorant going along with the worst of the biased magazines talking about a console they knew next to nothing about.

I don't think so.
