Angry Video Game Reviewer Type People

Well, no-one talks about those guys because they're both inactive and have been for years. Thankfully. God, this is what people liked back then...the Irate Gamer was FAR from the only AVGN rip off out there.

If you do want to talk about other good game reviewers/video game channels that are actually active...well, for a start there's LazyGameReviews, Continue?, PushingUpRoses, Clan of the Gray Wolf, SteveBenway and of course Sega-16's very own Game Sack. There's some other guy kicking about on Youtube who's kinda ok too. I can't remember his name for the life of me, but I think I have it linked in my signature.

Actually not true. LeisureSuitGaming2 last review was uploaded several months ago. And Armake21 is currently TheWaste0Time and posted a 2 hour upload called "Armake the Lost Episodes" last summer. Currently he's planning a Aliens CM review as Armake21".

Also AVGN rip-offs? Umm...no. Their content was and is completely original. AVGN doesn't review PC games and he CERTAINLY doesn't rant on terrible game box art.

Wow, really. Youtube nostalgia tours! Youtube's standards back then were less than zero (as opposed to nowadays. Now they're...well, exactly zero). Your reasons for these guys not being AVGN rip-offs is like saying that the Great Giana Sisters isn't a rip-off of Super Mario Bros. because the main characters are female.

The point I'm trying to make is simple. Your accusing them of being AVGN rip-offs when you have no clue of the type of material they've been putting out recently the past year. Box Art reviewing is original,so is reviewing fangames like I wanna be the Guy Gaiden.

I can run into well over a dozen viewers who say that AVGN's videos are treading on weak material.

Sorry to say this, but calling anyone an AVGN rip-off means "AVGN Nazi".

Also, with Silent Rob now having nearly 11,000 subs and Armake approaching 10,000, they both have lots of respect and admiration with their fans and subscribers. People respect them. And Armake's fans proved that to him last month by spending over $1,000 on donated gifts HE NEVER BEGGED FOR. He stated during his streams he would like to have them and was working towards getting them himself. He felt so selfish receiving them, he asked for fans to stop sending him gifts.

I'm sorry to say this, but no it doesn't. I haven't seen either of the ones you recommended so I won't pass a comment on them, but people like Bores and a whole bunch of others obviously copied his format almost verbatim.

As for good/non-angry channels I would recommend.

Definitely Game Sack! Informative with plenty of games you don't often see put up. I personally think their humour is a little forced but that's a minor complaint.

Classic Game Room really started it all originally and Mark puts up regular, consistently entertaining content.

Joe from GS recommended a guy called Metal Jesus and he is a really chill, positive gamer that knows his stuff.

There's also Gamester81 and NESComplex (I really like that last one).

Happy Console Gamer is really good, he is about as far as you can get from angry reviewers. Very positive and nostalgic. Also a huge Sega fan.

Also this week I found a really good channel that deserves wayyyyyy more attention - Replay Retro. This guy is fantastic and the best console reviewer I've seen, extremely detailed and informative reviews with great production and entertainment value.

I always like Jedite's channel, until he got caught up with political conspiracy stuff and channel has been dormant for a bit now. He did a little crappy game reviews before AVGN such as Dragons Lair for NES

Give the new episode a chance, it starts out slow but gets better and better.

Best episode in a long time. Definitely enjoyed it.

"WHERE DID THEIR HAIR GO!!"

Hah, way back when I got my Master System instead of an NES my "other system" envy included Ikari Warriors. I wanted Rambo First Blood Part II on Master System to be that game, but it didn't do it for me. The funny thing was I played the heck out of Front Line on 2600 years earlier, but didn't like Rambo. Anyway, after watching this episode my rose colored memory of Ikari Warriors on NES is definitely lifting. I remember all of the codes I had to use with buddies just to play that game, and we never really had a good time no matter how badly we wanted to.

On another note, this "Nerd" episode actually cleared the room at my house. Even the five year old was bored and annoyed with it less than half way through.

Meh...

Kyle Justin is way funnier than Mike. Episode was good, not great.

The battletoads and spiderman episodes are two of my favorites just because of Kyle Justin. He plays an incredible "player 2"
