Do you hear that? It's the sound of MrSega back-pedaling.
Hey, we are going back to the X86 again.
what is mrsega's response?
Don't worry, he'll conjure something up.
Been watching it live, still not impressed by anything.
You're a fucking idiot and a liar. Nobody around here should give two shits about what you think of Sony customers, or the hardware they are showing off.
No doubt you will have selective hearing toward any reference of your past bullshit, and no doubt you will continue expressing completely retarded conjecture with patent office or tech spec copy-pasta in an attempt to mask idiocy as something meaningful.
Obviously their getting Diablo3 and Blizzard partnership is a sign that Sony is doomed.
"It won't be called PS4"
Sony Announces PS4
"It'll be mostly cloud anyway"
Little cloud use natively
"No BC"
Gaikai details BC plans.
Anything else?
HAHAHA!
Blizzards "strategic partnership" quote kind of leads me to believe it won't be on the Xbox.
Of course Diablo 3 will make it on the Nextbox.
Just like Gears of war landed on the PS3 after the agreement Epic and MS Sig----oh wait.
You DO.
Computing power doesn't advance fast enough to emulate that type of scale. So you WOULD be paying for BC in the form of Retail price for the additional hardware they would have to install. This applies to every console with BC. BC was never free to begin with.
Nothing blew me away. Everything was as expected, but I did expect better.
Sony should have hyped up the PS3 & Vita value as extra clients for it, and announced a price drop for both of them to prepare for it. A missed opportunity.
I'm still waiting to see what MS will do. Depending upon the state of the next Xbox hardware they could really steal Sony's thunder. But if they have to wait too long they will miss that chance.
Either way, I don't expect either console to be too far off from each other specs/capabilities wise.
Overall, the conference was a pretty standard Sony conference: it was too long, and it was boring, but otherwise it was alright. That they actually didn't show the consoles' design, and also didn't say the price, are definitely negatives though... as is the lack of BC.
As for games, Knack, a new Killzone, watch_dogs, Drive Club, Bungie's new shooter, Deep Down (dragon's dogma 2-alike), a new Infamous, this (non-)game where you can sculpt things with the move controller, and the witness (from the guy who made Braid) were all shown.
O BOI, THIS IS GONNA BE THE BEST CONSOLE WAR EVA!!!
I may be done with console upgrades for the forseeable future. I like my PS3, but am more of an occasional gamer. There's a ton of great content this generation that's about to get seriously cheap (a lot of great games area already $20). I could probably game for the next decade on the PS3 at the rate I go and still not go through every decent game.
Also, all the new systems are basically repackaged PCs. Maybe I'll just go straight back to PC gaming:)
Edit: In all honesty, I'm more excited about Bungie's "Destiny" than I am about any new console. Of course, knowing my luck, it will get pushed to PS4 and Xbox 720...
Pretty much as I expected. There's some really cool features that's going to be implemented, really cool social media integration, Vita streaming, but I can't really see myself getting one based on what I've seen today. No backwards compatibility with PS3 is a nogo for me. A couple of interesting games announced, nothing that makes me want to buy it though, although maybe it's a bit of a bias because not many Sony IPs this generation or from the PS2 really appeal to me that much.
As for Diablo 3, I really hope that Blizzard doesn't plan on having PS3/4 users to shell out 60$ for this game. It was fairly disappointing and lacks the replay value that previous games in the series had. I would have been more happy to have seen Torchlight 2 as a downloadable game announced, it's just better in most ways, except MAYBE in the graphics department.
Infamous is a good game.
If Microsoft try to one up Sony on power they run a massive risk of pricing themselves out of the market, the PS4 specs are very impressive and way ahead of the current gen (including the Wii U worryingly).
Console announcements/launches are so different these days. There have always been console wars but it seems like excitement has been replaced by skepticism and criticism. It's really sad. I always look forward to new tech no matter who is behind it.
The whole conference had "smoke and mirrors" written all over it. They confirmed its final name, was vague on its features, tried pathetically to spin its lack of actual true BC. Annouced a few new first party IPs that only Sony fans will care about.(PS3 first party titles haven't exactly sold well.)
They also attempted to get hype going with a handfull of 3rd party projects which all felt forced & contrived which fell short. They also tried, I mean REALLY tried to impress with graphics, but ended up getting laughed at.
There's an elephant in the room. PS4 will almost certainly be mainly cloud based. That means it will likely be expensive. And that just about ALL of its services will be subscription based.
How much with the PS4 be?
They confirmed it's PS4. (And not one of your bullshit Thebes/Near arguments.)
They stated it will let you suspend and resume games to RAM, will offer games playable while downloading in the background, will allow LOM functions so you don't even need it to be powered up to be managed remotely, and offer remote play to PSVita, and let you share game videos with a social network that profiles your habits and offers you a customized and preferable experience.
They showed off new games being worked on for it. What more could you reasonably expect from them?
What the fuck are you talking about?Quote:

I think they will push Sony's shit in hard and get some Call of Duty, or EA Sports leverage. With a cheaper console that will be backed by mobile phone carriers.
Right, so then, why the fuck would they include a big hard drive, and say it lets out of band downloading management to occur while your console is turned off?
Probably going to be pushed down to $399, if they either eat a loss or work on the supply chain leverage. The 8gb of DDR5 RAM is an expensive leap forward, and is what will give them superiority if the Xbox doesn't show up with better specs. (No reason to think they won't. Durango kits leaked over a year ago, before we thought PS4 would have only 4gb)
